Former Broncos cornerback Syd’Quan Thompson was arrested this weekend in Sacramento on domestic violence charges.

According to ABC10, Thompson was released on $50,000 bail Monday, after he was booked on Sunday.

Thompson spent three years with the Broncos. Originally a seventh-round pick from Cal, he missed his second season after a preseason Achilles tear, and was cut the following year. He played some Arena League football after that, but never returned to an NFL camp.

His brother is Panthers linebacker Shaq Thompson.

Titus Young denied parole, remains in California prison

Former Lions wide receiver Titus Young will remain in a California prison after he was denied parole.

The Los Angeles Times reports that California’s Board of Parole Hearings decided that Young should not be paroled because of his “history of violent criminality.”

Young was convicted of two assaults and got four years in prison for one and two years in prison for the other. He has been behind bars since August of 2016. He says he is getting better through mental health treatment and hopes to resume his NFL career.

The Lions’ second-round draft pick in 2011, Young had a very promising rookie year, with 607 receiving yards. But the next year he had several issues, including punching a teammate in practice and deliberately lining up in the wrong place after an argument with an assistant coach, and the Lions released him. Since the Lions cut him he had a string of legal problems.

NFL contends Jami Cantor consented to alleged sexual harassment

The NFL, through it’s in-house TV network, faces a sexual harassment lawsuit that has resulted in the suspension of three on-air employees, including Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk. The NFL has now filed a formal response to the claims made by Jami Cantor last month.

Via TMZ, which does not share a link to the full document, the NFL contends that Cantor “approved, consented to, authorized, and/or ratified” the raunchy words and behaviors that allegedly took place. Although a full analysis of the NFL’s filing is required (we’ve asked the league for a copy of the document), the snippet provided by TMZ isn’t a surprise. Companies accused in court of sexual harassment always deny it, especially at first. (And if they’re not willing to deny it, they quickly settle the case before they have to admit it.)

Like all other successful businesses, getting sued is a cost of doing business, and the league has lawyers and law firms trained in the business of cobbling together the various snippets of cookie-cutter lawyer-talk on a $500-per-hour assembly line that spits out a smattering of phrases like a doll with a string that gets pulled to make it talk.

At the heart of it all: Admit nothing. Agree to nothing. Deny everything. And at the very worst, claim ignorance.

Basically, the initial filing from a defendant in a case like this means nothing. What matters is whether the defendant has a legal argument that would provide a potential silver bullet to the entire lawsuit (or to some of the specific claims). Once that all gets sorted out, the focus becomes the so-called discovery process, where documents are exchanged and questions are answered in writing and witnesses are grilled under oath.

For now, the most important development (or lack thereof) continues to be that Faulk, Heath Evans, and Ike Taylor continue to be suspended. Which means that the league has yet to conclude that they are blameless or otherwise suited to return to work. The longer they remain off the job, the more probable than not that some or all of Cantor’s allegations have merit — and that the NFL has legal and financial exposure.
Does anyone have any idea when this is going to hit the Courts!!?

That's not accurate. You can have a semi auto rifle or hand gun. On a rifle that has a pistol grip and is magazine fed, you have to have the "bullet button" to detach the magazine. If you put a "regular" rifle grip you don't need the bullet button. Thordsen makes a grip and but stock combo that make the assualt rifle a "regular" rifle. Also you can't have a collapsible stock. I'm building an AR now and just need the stock/grip. If you have a standard looking assault rifle (think AR type), you have to register it with the state and you cannot sell it or give it away or put it in your will for your family.

Stupid California.
" Stupid Liberal California Law-Makers" To be more precise! F--k This^ BS!!

Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston escaped uninjured after recently being involved in a car wreck, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Winston, 24, was driving in Tampa on February 13 when his Ford truck rear-ended a car, via the paper. The accident caused damage to both vehicles, including an estimated $4,000 to the car Winston hit.

But no one was injured in the wreck.

Winston faces a $153 fine after being cited for careless driving.

I found this interesting and really cool that he is doing this. And wasn't quite sure where to put it so figured this thread could use a positive influence mixed in...

Evildoers running afoul of the law best keep their head on a swivel, or they might be blindsided by a Peanut Punch.

Former NFL cornerback Charles Tillman is now an FBI agent,Sporting News reported.

"He is currently working for the FBI. [He] has his badge and everything," a source told Sporting News. The Bureau does not comment on personnel matters.

The longtimeChicago Bearscornerback began training with the FBI last year, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Tillman's graduation from the Training Academy came in the nick of time. The FBI stipulates all new agents must be selected before she or he reaches the age of 37. Tillman, a.k.a. "Peanut," turned 37 years old today, Feb. 23, 2018 (Happy birthday, Peanut!).

Tillman spent 12 seasons with theBearsbefore playing 2015, his final NFL campaign, with theCarolina Panthers. Tillman earned 38 interceptions and 126 career passes defended. He was more well known for his patented "Peanut Punch," in which he poked the ball from an unsuspecting offensive player. Tillman forced 44 fumbles in his career, by far the most for a defensive back in NFL history.

After a career defending an end zone, Tillman now beings his second profession helping defend the entire United States.

Jonathan Martin - T - Free Agent
Former Dolphins and 49ers OL Jonathan Martin has been taken into police custody after posting a disturbing image on Instagram of a shotgun and ammunition, threatening "suicide" and/or "revenge".

Martin was the famous victim of "Bullygate" while with the Dolphins back in 2013. In the photo he posted on Friday, Martin wrote, "When you're a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide, or revenge." In the photo, there was a shotgun and several rounds of shells lying on a bed, and Martin tagged former Dolphins teammates OG Richie Incognito and C Mike Pouncey. Martin also tagged two others, presumably from his old high school, while also tagging the #MiamiDolphins and #HarvardWestlake, his high school. Harvard Westlake subsequently shut down its campus after seeing the image. Martin was then taken into custody shortly after. The 28-year-old hasn't played in the NFL since 2014 and clearly has some mental issues. Thankfully, it didn't turn ugly.

Martin must have some wealthy parents, that HS costs as much or more to attend than many College University's.

Such a douchebag.
Just go with option one.
Or the third unmentioned option....grow the F up, let the past go and live a good life.
Dude has a degree from Stanford and played pro football. He could write his own check. But he is a head case who insists on being a victim.

Or he is actually mentally ill. If it was his kidney that was disfunctional no one would consider blaming him - it would be thoughts and prayers galore. But brain illness? The part of our physiology that we understand the least yet controls the most? That we all feel free to point the finger on and blame the guy suffering from the illness for just not sacking up.

Mental illness is a real thing. It actually exists - and while there are some in society who milk the system and claim mental illness illegitimately, there are many many more who just go undiagnosed and suffer greatly through life never getting help and feeling like they merely aren’t good enough - all because of an illness that might be treatable.

The brain is part of the body - an it can break just like everything else we have.

I don’t mean this to sound like an attack on you @fearsomefour - you know you are every woman in the world to me. I just see way too many mentally ill people get shit on. I have no special love for J Mart - but if this was him - it’s a clear call for help and I hope he gets it.

Yep, it was Martin all along that had the problem. All the drama was on him. Everybody else were the fall guys in his "politically correct" victimhood. Hope he and his enablers get the help they need for the sake of society.

Police questioned Jonathan Martin, do not believe his school is threatened
Posted by Michael David Smith on February 24, 2018

Police questioned former Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin on Friday as he was seeking treatment at a hospital, and do not believe a chilling social media post from Martin represents a real threat to his high school.

Martin posted a picture of a gun, a message about getting revenge on bullies, and the names of his high school, the Miami Dolphins, two Dolphins teammates and two high school classmates. His high school closed for the day out of concern that it could be a threat about a school shooting.

“The individual believed to be responsible for the social media post is being detained, however he is not in police custody,” Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Tony Im told USA Today. “The investigation is continuing, but rest assured we believe there is no threat to any school in the LA area.”

Martin was reportedly at a Los Angeles-area hospital seeking treatment.

Rams GM Snead Arrested on Grand Larceny Charges

February 24, 2018

(AP) - Los Angeles Rams GM Les Snead has been arrested and charged with a single count of grand larceny. The charge stems from the recently announced trade executed by Snead in which the Rams acquired All-Pro CB Marcus Peters for a meager sum of 4th and 7th round draft picks in 2018 and a conditional 3rd round pick in 2019. Federal law dictates that the incredibly lopsided nature of such a trade clearly falls within the scope of laws regarding larceny.

The Rams organization did not return a request for comment. However, when asked about Snead, President Donald Trump responded by saying "Dis trade is YUGE for da Rams. Obviously a good organization, dey hire da best people, just da best". When asked about the Chiefs role in the trade, President Trump stated "Dose guys are looze-uhs."

Obviously a good organization, dey hire da best people, just da best". When asked about the Chiefs role in the trade, President Trump stated "Dose guys are looze-uhs."

The Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, and Tennessee Titans have filed a joint lawsuit against Les Snead, Kevin Demoff, and the Los Angeles Rams organization, alleging that they robbed them in specific trades during certain drafts.

The Redskins trade in 2012, known as the "RG3 deal," has become one of the biggest heists from a team.

The Dallas Cowboys, in that same draft, traded up with the Rams to select a bust in Morris Claiborne, while the Rams ended up with one of the better defensive linemen in the league in Michael Brockers.

The Titans tried to mastermind an RG3-like trade with the Rams, who moved up to select the best young quarterback in the league in Jared Goff. The Titans, while not on the scale of the RG3 trade, failed to capitalize on their haul.

Jeff Fisher, the head coach of the team during those years, when asked for comment, erroneously claimed that he masterminded the Rams path into becoming the best team in the National Football League and dismissed Snead as a supposed "poser."

Snead has recently come under fire for the Marcus Peters deal, as he has been charged with grand larceny for that trade. No other details of the lawsuit were available, and when asked questions, Snead, Demoff, and Kroenke all declined to comment.

Ex-Dolphins lineman Jonathan Martin checks into mental health facility after disturbing post on Instagram, source says
Omar Kelly

Former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin checked into a mental health facility after making a disturbing post on social media that shut down a high school in California on Friday, according to a source.

Martin was detained by Los Angeles police following an Instagram post he made that featured a shotgun and shell casings. The post included threatening comments directed toward the Dolphins and Harvard Westlake, the high school he attended before going to Stanford.

It is unclear whether Martin was forced to undergo an involuntary mental examination under the Baker Act or if he voluntarily checked himself in for treatment.

"The investigation is continuing, but rest assured we believe there is no threat to any school in the LA area,” LAPD spokesperson Tony Im told USA TODAY Sports on Friday night.

When contacted by the South Florida Sun Sentinel on Sunday, an LAPD spokesperson said an update on Martin, who is no longer in custody, wasn’t available.

Martin’s medical status is protected by HIPAA laws, legislation that provides data privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical information.

Jets LB Dylan Donahue arrested on DWI and reckless driving charges
10:19 AM PT

New York Jets linebacker Dylan Donahue was arrested and charged with DWI and reckless driving after going the wrong way through the Lincoln Tunnel and crashing head-on into a jitney bus early Monday morning, according to Port Authority Police in New York/New Jersey.

Donahue, 25, failed a breathalyzer and a sobriety test at the scene, according to the police report. He didn't require medical attention, the report said, but four of the 15 passengers on the bus were transported to Hoboken Hospital with minor injuries.

The Jets weren't immediately available to comment.

Dylan Donahue played in only four games last season after suffering a season-ending elbow injury in Week 4. Noah K. Murray/USA TODAY Sports
Donahue, a fifth-round draft pick in 2017, was traveling eastbound into Manhattan at about 2 a.m. ET. A Port Authority officer saw a Dodge Charger, driven by Donahue, go around traffic cones and into the center tube of the tunnel against traffic. At that time, traffic was going westbound toward New Jersey.

Donahue is subject to NFL discipline under the league's substance-abuse policy.

The passenger in Donahue's car, Suleiman Mahmood, 21, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Donahue was the second Jets player arrested this offseason. Wide receiver Robby Anderson was arrested last month in South Florida on nine charges, including speeding, reckless driving and threatening to harm a police officer's family member -- a felony.

Donahue played in only four games last season after suffering a season-ending elbow injury in a Week 4 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He finished his rookie year with four tackles. The Jets are counting on him to be a core special teamer and perhaps contribute as a situational pass-rusher.

The son of former NFL linebacker Mitch Donahue, he took a circuitous route to the NFL. He played at an NAIA school and a junior college before landing at the University of West Georgia, a Division II school.

Recounting his journey after the draft, Donahue said he drank too much in high school, resulting in bad grades.

WTH?
Haha.
I think he is mentally ill. Hard to know to what degree. I am a big proponent of more care for the mentally ill. But he has endless resources. Not seeking help may part of his issue. But one thing for sure, he paints himself as a victim anytime he can.
As for a personal attack one me, I don't care.
