Nah, first i read it, I was in tears fo sho

It's just gonna take time. Part of the reason I watched every snap in 2022 was that I knew this day would come and I didn't want to miss a single snap and iirc, I saw every snap of his career.

Best player in any sport I've ever seen (although Ohtani may eclipse that)

As others posted, I'm gutted. I've got 3 AD jerseys, iirc and he's my favorite football player of all time, eclipsing Jack Youngblood.

Think I'll spend a good part of the day watching AD highlights
AD stalker!

Privileged to see the man play live in the only Rams game I’ve been to.

What a beast! What a legend! Truly the greatest DT of all time.

Strangely, I feel more comfortable with the Rams plans for the D now. They’ve known for a while and still didn’t attack FA for defensive help. Tells me they have a plan they are happy with.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Jeffery Simmons from Tennessee in a Rams jersey.

I'm thinking about the all time great Rams that I've seen play now that AD has retired.
Deacon Jones, Merlin, Rosy, Hacksaw, Jack Youngblood, S J-39, Marshall, Kurt .......... and the rest of them.
Now, who's next up to be that guy? One of the best Rams ever? A first year eligible HOF'er?
Is he on the team right now? In this year's draft class maybe?
Let's hope so.
Thanks for always stepping up when it mattered the most AD.

Shattered to think we won’t get to see him play again.

The man is immense.

He has been doing it for ten years at the highest possible level, and I suppose waking up every day to get your body into perfect physical condition takes insane commitment and anything less is not in AD’s make up.

I wish it wasn’t so … but I wish him all the best and say thank you Aaron Donald.

Spent the morning fixing roof damage from a wind storm, with my mind on this and the thought being sort of surreal almost. And now the realization that 99 is done is hitting me like it's a fucking time release.

It's gonna be weird to watch this team without him.

Jourdan's usage of the term: "multiple things can be true at the same time" is starting to wear thin on me. She says it entirely too much IMO.
I made a similar comment over a year ago, haha.
However, as good as Jourdan is, she is not privy to the vast majority of the FO dealings. Also, she uses the saying "both things can be true" waaaaay too much. :)

Now back to drinking my sorrows away...

Same here, I was painting some new flashing the roofers installed. He made some rumbles last year too. I just think its become a job to him and isn't fun anymore.

Funny stuff from Niners websites

Good riddance, Aaron Donald

While the 49ers had success against Donald's club, they should be rejoicing they no longer have to deal with him. Even as a 32-year-old 10-year veteran, Donald posted 84 pressures and 10 sacks last season. His absence in the 49ers' two matchups vs. the Rams next season will be an extremely welcome sight for San Francisco.

Donald in 10 years went to 10 Pro Bowls, notched eight First-Team All-Pro nods, a Defensive Rookie of the Year award, three Defensive Player of the Year wins and seven top-five DPOY finishes. It's unclear whether he eventually learned who Deebo Samuel is.

Just like with Merlin, Deacon, and Jack; time moves on a new chapter will begin but Aaron Donald will never be forgotten. He goes down in history as one of the all-time Ram greats.

Yeah but when Merlin retired, the Rams had Mike Fanning and Cody Jones to play DT next to Larry Brooks.

When Deacon was traded, the Rams had Youngblood, Fred Dryer and Coy Bacon at DE.

I'm hoping that the Rams defense could always have been better because AD was sooooo damn good they would stop playing and watch him.....now they will play harder because Superman isn't there to save them... :)
