We will rally round the Rams and play bad football...but I'm still rallying round them (meaning I'm still going to watch them and hope they win).

The past few years, I don't think we got as hyped up about the overall team, but this year was supposed to be different. Year 3 of the rebuild. Things were in place, we had the DC we wanted all along, we had a D-line that was going to control the trenches and an O-line that would do the same.

And yet, it's worse than last year, or the year before.

Yes, losing Bradford was a massive blow, as was Long's injury. But freak me, man, when you go into a season expecting mediocrity with upside, being mediocre at least doesn't hurt too badly. But when you go into a season expecting to be good with upside to very good, being straight-up horrible is soul-crushing.

What's it say about Fisher if Sam and Long are the reasons? The argument is always the team he inherited was horrible, but of those two are the difference between a respectable record and 1-4 then that's got to say something right?

I am going to watch them as well. Mostly out of a morbid sense of curiosity.

SF went on a 31-3 run in our house. Don't talk to me about late game defensive stops. Too little too late. No props from this fan.
I wouldn't bat an eye if Fisher fired Gregg Williams tomorrow. This hire is Josh McDaniels all over again...on the other side of the ball.
I see our defensive players playing hard, hitting, covering...but they constantly find each other out of position, blitzing ineffectively(picked up) and in bad coverage.

I've quit on Gregg Williams.

You guys do understand we have a very young team and young players make mistakes. Greg Williams didn't bite on that double move Lloyd laid on him. And this Defense played their hearts out. Two 4th down stops and a chance to tie this game. Davis made a young player mistake and threw late over the middle. If they keep playing hard the Rams will win their share of games this year. Remember they play they play the toughest schedule in the NFC and lost to two 5-1 teams and a 4-2 team. All very good teams and all competitive games. Stand-fast men we are almost through the storm!!!!

Go Rams.

For the OP, great post man.

I don't blame the coordinators in this game. The Rams came in with a great plan but could not adjust and it cost them the game. The problem is the players are not showing an ability to execute what is being called. IMO.

Fish said WRs were open, which means Davis missed some reads that could have helped. He's a young QB.

JLau summed up the defense perfectly. They just need to execute.

Bottom line is a CB not executing the called defense, especially in this particular defense, is a catastrophe. Plain and simple. I'll bet right now that if Tru returns and takes right up where he left off in place of Jenks, the Rams' defense will be significantly improved.

Really? Sooooo.....o our goal line stand late in the 4th quarter was what? Lack of 49er effort? No they played hard through out......the just haven't figured out how to win yet....how to correct the few things that they did that really cost them....they are real young.....they are very talented. ...they just need to learn how to win....over come adversity. ...and most of all believe that they can.... I'm not giving up on this team..... I love them!!!!!!! Lol it just hurts some times.....;)
GO RAMS......... ;)

You mean the players that stopped the niners on 3, 4th and short? Those players?

The defense was gassed, but they didn't quit.
I haven't checked the TOP, but I'm pretty sure we were dominated in the second half.

So because we stopped them on one goal line stand every player didn't give up? Spags is that you? I love our morale victories to... your right every player put out 100% every play of that game.......please

So you think they gave up?
I don't agree. I remember seeing guys between snaps trying to breath. Which tends to happen when you spend a majority of the second half on the field.

It kinda happens when the guys on offense give up and keep the guys on D on the field.... Not including JJ because apparently he just didn't give a shit about playing, just suiting up

I'm pretty close to tossing in the towel. Our playoff chances are very low right now. If we start 1-5, they're next to nothing. I'm tired of this team not contending for even the playoffs.

I do my best to be optimistic during the off-season but it gets harder and harder during the season as the losses rack up.
