It has to be drugs or mental illness. Either way, I hope that Zay Jones gets the help he clearly needs.

Or he could have been extremely hammered from too much booze. Been there, done that. Of course my binge drinking was always done at ground floor level. :sneaky:

Jonathan Martin turns himself in, pleads not guilty
Posted by Darin Gantt on March 21, 2018

Former Dolphins offensive lineman Jonathan Martin pleaded not guilty to charges surrounding his troubling social media post last month.

According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, Martin turned himself in to authorities Tuesday after he was charged with four felony counts of making criminal threats and a misdemeanor count of carrying a loaded firearm in public

He posted $210,000 in bail and was released after his plea, and his next court date is April 25.

Martin posted a picture on Instagram last month showing a shotgun and shells and the message: “When you’re a bully victim & a coward, your options are suicide or revenge.” He also tagged former Dolphins teammate Richie Incognito and his old high school in California, leading the school to close for a day.

Prosecutors said in court documents the threats were “so unequivocal, unconditional, immediate and specific as to convey … a gravity of purpose and an immediate prospect of execution.”

Martin checked himself into a hospital after the incident.

Did you know that Zay Jones is the son of former Rams linebacker Robert Jones? I didn't either.

The father of Bills wide receiver Zay Jones said he was “gonna be fine” after Monday’s naked, bloody arrest.

Robert Jones (the longtime NFL linebacker who won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys) tweeted out word that his son was with him and in good hands, and thanking fans for their interest after the bizarre situation.

The Bills wideout was arrested for felony vandalism after kicking out a window during an incident in Los Angeles.

Zay Jones has been released from jail on $20,000 bond.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors did not immediately file a case against Jones and have asked police to further investigate the matter.

The Bills have given the standard statement of awareness but have added little more about the strange incident. Jones was their second-round pick from East Carolina last year, but struggled through a shoulder injury which required surgery in January. He finished the year with 27 catches for 316 yards and two touchdowns (as if that’s the important thing at the moment).

I wonder if Richie and Mike are nervous?? LOL

Nah, he poses a threat mostly to himself. Martin will get sent to a mental institution instead of jail. His goings and comings will be watched in the future or at least should be. If a man wants to harm or kill someone he doesn't announce or hint at his intentions to do so unless he's either stupid or mental.

Case against Zay Jones reportedly dropped for insufficient evidence
Posted by Charean Williams on March 22, 2018

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office will not pursue vandalism charges against Bills receiver Zay Jones because of insufficient evidence, Mike Rodak of ESPN reports.

Jones was arrested Monday after a bizarre fight with his brother.

Uhhhhhhh, the naked rampage video and his blood smeared everywhere wasn’t enough?

i wouldn't call that vandalism. vandals destroy property for the fun of it. and because they're arseholes.

I assume it's a combination of him paying for repairs, and the DA knowing it would be tough to get him convicted when he was pretty clearly at least temporarily out of his mind, and is likely seeking help. No point in wasting resources for what would likely be an acquittal

Yeah, I'm SURE he made full restitution.

That and no hotel wants to be known as a place willing to ruin the career of a pro athlete.

With the burden of intent, I can see why the DA didn't want to pursue it...

Aldon Smith arrested again

Former Raiders and 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has been arrested once again.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Smith was arrested this morning in San Francisco for violating a court order to stay away from the victim in a domestic violence case that got him arrested earlier this month.

In that incident, Smith’s fiancee accused him of biting her wrists. He was charged with domestic violence, assault with force likely to produce bodily injury, false imprisonment and vandalism. He has a court date next month.

Smith said he would enter substance abuse rehab after his previous arrest.

Once among the best pass rushers in the NFL, Smith is currently suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Although he is just 28 years old, he may never play in the NFL again.
