We get to hear from all the local announcers watching NFL network pre-season games. Just like the NHL, the homerism is unabated. But I expect it, because these guys are announcing these games for their local audience--not their fault the NFL Network is picking it up too.

I must say, I really enjoyed the Bears announcers, as well as Jacksonville's. Sam Rosen did a great job-always liked him.

One of the worst are Washington's games with color man Joe Theismann. He was going on last night about 'the way we did it." Frankly, I'm older than Joe, but I really don't need a blathering football history lesson between plays. For pre-season, the important thing is just identifying the plethora of guys. This guy thinks he has to fill airtime with a lot of words. Sometimes less is best.

I knew going in we weren't going to get a lot of inside Rams perspective once I saw the announcing crew. I had no problem with Mowins. Millen, however, was an ass. He kept trying to coach the players, instead of talking to a TV audience...saying things like "you gotta keep your pad level high" and "get out in front of the play." Doesn't he know he's talking to fans, not players? I get it--you are and ex-player and GM. But, god, know your audience, man. And at one point he said the word "utilize" about 5 times in two sentences. (Who talks this way? Trying to impress someone with how smart you are? The word to use is simply use.) I'd really prefer these local stations hire some actual sports writers or sports commentators rather than keep parading around these 'insider' jocks for the pre-season.

Sounds to me like a female version of a Marv Albert/Al Michaels combo. Didnt hate it or anything, was just different.

I just wish I could listen to Faulk announce every Ram game ever. Pair him with Martz maybe and i'd be in heaven.

She truly reminded me of Susan Waldman who does the Yankee radio broadcasts
