We got robbed tonight, and here is why

Yes, we played like s**t, but we still should have won, and here is why

How was this ruled a catch but not a touchdown? The tip of the ball broke the line and 1 knee=2 feet. We didn't lose this game. The refs won it for the rams. Once that ball breaks the plane of the endzone, its a touchdown, as long as they confirm that he kept control of the ball through the catch (He did according to them) Then how is this NOT a touchdown?
---------
Nice screen grab. Yeah, no doubt about it. That is a TD.

We played just well enough to lose.
----------
IF THE SAFETY COUNTS,LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE

A FIELD GOAL WINS IT
----------
Don't see how this wasn't seen by tv crew or refs if it was called a catch. Oh well
----------
He still didnt have control of the ball at that point, you see it bobble loose towards the end when he gets full control....
----------
Stop crying we had so many breaks through the game it shouldn't have gone down to that final drive we deserved to lose after the offense was still on bye week mode
---------
It was ruled a catch -- not a bobble and a catch. The screen grab clearly shows Crabtree clutching the ball and it's clearly broken the goal line. It's a touchdown and should have been ruled a touchdown.

Bottom line? The refs blew this call. It happens. They're human. It doesn't explain why we played so poorly.
-----------
Bogert that dumb ref who robbed us in the SB was officiating....what'd yall expect?

----------
A game of inches vs the Rams ? THE RAMS ? We deserve to lose.
----------
I'm usually rough on the refs but no way in hell I'm blaming this loss on the refs. Never in a million years.
----------
There is a reason we're called Whiners. Threads like this. The refs didn't allow 8 sacks, the refs didn't overthrow receivers all day, the refs didn't get to the 1 down by 3 and fail to score even a field goal.
----------
So tired of the ref blaming.
----------
ya ya ya we sucked we didn't deserve the win... but neither did the rams. that's a blatant TD
-----------
f**k it
----------
Definately one of the toughest loses ive suffered as a niner fan for 20 years . Harbaugh has lost the team , hell he was like a ghost on the sideline . Roman agian abandons the run game completely and calls one of the worst games ever . Kap has taken a step back in his progession or maybe 2 , i think its time he stopped all the commercials and stuck his head into a film room . Losing like this is absolutely insane . Makes me want to burn my jersey .
------------
This feels like that f**king Saints loss back in 2010, on MNF.
------------
we had two more downs after that play...we didn't get robbed...we gave it away
sick.gif

-------------
One time I ripped my crabtree jersey right off my own chest (like the incredible hulk) when we lost at KC in week 3 during the Singletary years. I feel like that now
------------
We got robbed in the offseason--when we gave Kap that huge contract.
-----------
Oline lost the game......Rams has 6 sacks all year!
-----------
Or Kaep could have not f**king fumbled at the end. Not on the refs that we couldn't get out of our own damn way.
-----------
The refs are not to blame for the loss. The Niners offense was absolutely horrendous today. It was very hard to watch that o-line today, and Kap wasn't helping his case either as much as I love the guy.

All that being said, how in the world is that not a TD? If it is a bobbled ball, then the ball clearly makes contact with the ground and it shouldn't be a catch. Crabtree's knee is clearly down and he has possession of the football with the ball breaking the plane of the goal. If he completes that catch, it should be a TD. Put it this way, if he does that same thing going to the side of the endzone, it is ruled a touchdown every time. So why should this situation be different?

We got robbed. The score should have been 17-10. The ref had no reason to blow the play dead on the punt return to the EZ. Should have been a td. What a joke.

I'm not sure I'd call that screen grab a TD when I'm not sure he had control of the ball yet. I do think they broke the plane on the last play of the game but because it was so crowded, they couldn't call it a TD.

Most of those responses at least didn't put the blame on anyone but themselves. Which, is about right.

Oh, the Whiner fans may talk a lot of crap, but they have learned to respect this team. Let's see if the Cards fans will talk nonsense about the refs gift wrapping the game for the Horns.

actually that TD would have been called back even if TA scored because of the offsetting illegal blocks. The JL55 fumble return however, should have been allowed

Wouldn't that play have been called back regardless due to the offsetting penalties? I agree it shouldn't have been blown dead but the penalties were still there for both sides.

49ers-Rams final score: Well, that was a disaster

The 49ers dropped to 4-4 with an ugly loss to the St. Louis Rams. We consider the disaster that was.

What a hideous game. The San Francisco 49ers were defeated by the St. Louis Rams 13-10, dropping to 4-4 on the season. The 49ers played some horrific football, and yet still had a chance to win the game in the closing seconds. Colin Kaepernick went for the sneak on the 1-yard line, but fumbled the ball as he was approaching the goal line. The refs ruled he did not have his elbow down, and the 49ers lost.

There were so many issues, and people will first look to the referees. While the refs were atrocious, the 49ers completely crapped the bed in this game. The biggest issue on Sunday was the incredibly shoddy play of the offensive line. Colin Kaepernick was sacked eight times as the Rams had no problems finding their way into the backfield. Kap did have some time on occasion, but it seemed like the line was collapsing all day long. I'm sure blame can be split amongst plenty of people, but the line just did not cut it.

The defense put together a strong performance, doing pretty much what they needed to with the Rams offense, only to be hung out to dry by the offense. Chris Borland had a monster day, with ESPN's box score crediting him 18 total tackles. Antoine Bethea had an early interception, and was a key part of the 49ers defense all day long. The Rams got some big plays from Tre Mason, and the pass rush struggled with consistency once again, but the 49ers defense did what it needed to do to put the offense in position to win. And yet it didn't matter as the offense came up short.

The 49ers now get to head on the road for a pair of tough contests. They travel to face the New Orleans Saints in Week 10, and then travel to face the New York Giants in Week 11. In light of Sunday's performance, they've got their work cut out for them.

Your probably right. It still baffles me why it was blown dead.
