I agree with you Stu.

Unlike basic Ram fans who have zero invested outside of being a fan in this game McVay, Gruden, and their families all view football as a way of life for multiple family members in the past, present, and future with kids etc. There is a point in a game where you don't say to your players " let up" but you can extend a certain type of professional courtesy not to mention the person who gave you your start in the league. In the NFL loyalty goes along way because positions don't last forever so relationships will help carry you and those you care about.

So, are you saying, Gruden will end his relationship and their families will have a meltdown if McVay runs up a score? I don't think so. It's a game. Take your beating like a man and move on!

I was looking at that 52 to 0 game we had 4 years ago.

It is insane the roster turnover that has happened for our team in that 4 years.

Remaining players and I may miss a couple.

Brockers, Donald, Saffold, Zuerlein, Hekker, Mcquaid, and Coach Bones.

I honestly expect a lot of backups playing in the 4th quarter of games this season. Between having a legitimate chance at the super bowl and not wanting to risk injury in a game already in hand, and being able to get experience for the backups you may soon need to rely on as starters with the money spent this offseason, it only makes sense imo

Nah, I'd save the running up the score stuff for the whiners and aints.

And then aim a Paul Crewe bean 'em in the nuts play toward the Saints sideline.

I don't know. I think McVay's relationship with Gruden might drive him not to take the foot off the gas. When you respect somebody like that, why patronize them?
I just saw the video with McVay and John and Jay Gruden....They all said they can't wait to beat each other.

MASH THE PEDAL DOWN, Sean!

Saw the thread title. Hoped for Mormons.
Oh well.

I wonder how many people actually got that.

Possibly. Does Sean strike you as a person who would risk adding insult to the guy who began his career? Probably not.

Well, let's say Rams are up 40-10 midway through 4th qtr. Isn't that in and of itself embarrassing? Is 47-10 that much worse for a final score.

These guys are paid millions of dollars to coach and win football games. They should be above the fray of a tough loss...

Mcvay will be classy despite who he is playing.

Once its over, He doesn't pour it on anymore.

See last year vs the Niners. We could have scored again at the end but that is not Mcvay.

Except when you are dethroning the Division Champs. Because screw Pete and stuff!

I think Gruden would be insulted if McVay took the foot off the pedal.

Edit: Just saw that @jrry32 said the same thing

Extremes make for poor arguments. If you embarrass someone - especially someone who has achieved a prominent position - they can often take some time to get over it and it may very well sour a relationship. I’m not saying it would - but could.

The Rams will stop trying to score if the Raiders stop trying to catch up. Otherwise, when the lead is insurmountable.

I don't they do. If there's three minutes left in the game with a 28 point lead, and Goff is firing bombs down the field, that's running up the score and somewhat classless. But, if they run the ball, and break it for a touchdown in that same instance, so be it...

Yeah, I just don't see that first scenario happening.

It would be classless... and McVay has class.

He would never trot out draft picks for the coin toss that he got from another team when they played them.
