Not quite. Parkinson surpassed him in snaps last year and had become the starter even when Higs was healthy.

He did, true. All the same, we don't know how the tight end room is going to change with a fully healthy Higbee. He is by far our best blocker at tight end and a reliable receiver.

I get that. I totally understand where he'd be coming from. I get why he'd want Klare; he's an exceptionally talented tight end.

I just question the ultimate fit with Higbee signing a two-year-deal and Allen possibly coming cheap. It's why I think Parkinson could end up being dealt; we'd still have four exceptional tight ends, even losing Parkinson.

That's the reason why I see this pick being made.
Higbee’s deal was essentially a one year deal with an additional void year to stretch the contract out. He has struggled to stay healthy since the DIRTY KIRBY HIT. Parkinson is in his final season of his contract, Allen is in his final season of his contract so TE was definitely a need position for 2026 and going forward. I like the pick based on the current success of the 13 personnel. The TE’s gave the Seahawks defense trouble matching up. Exploit your enemies weaknesses.

Love Higbee but he just can’t run well anymore. Great player, great teammate but Father Time is catching up.

True. I still think that the Klare pick was for 2027 more than anything. I don't think he'll play much in 2026, much like Simpson - and we should all hope and pray that he doesn't because that would mean Stafford is hurt - won't play in 2026.

wondering if the $ they’ll save when Park, Hig & Allen move on will ensure keeping Dotson and Avila.

And.. I guess they’re comfortable with McClendon!
They have plenty of money now - even more starting next year since we won’t be spending 50M+ to a QB1.

I expect a bunch of extensions coming over the next 8 months - OL for sure.

I hope after this we can chill with the tight ends for a minute. Between giving Parkinson a big deal and using second round picks on tight ends in back to back years we have devoted way more than enough resources on that position. While we neglect other more important positions.
TE's???

I feel like this is McVay trying to cope with not getting Bowers. He’s still looking for that Kupp type of player at TE.

Man, McVay is looking at Rams history and seeing we've never had an all-time great at TE and is determined to change that.

I love his athleticism, definitely love his route tree. Don't love the hands nearly as much. He was around the area from late-second-to-early-third.

It's a headscratcher, especially after just drafting Ferguson last year, and I assume we're trading Parkinson or cutting Allen. I have to assume that because carrying five tight ends makes no sense.
unless you fully expect to stash the rookie on the PS
