Seems like Raiders are having mediocre issues from many of their players
13 targets, 5 catches for 62 yards 1 TD
5 targets, 4 catches for 33 yards 0 TD
5 targets,1 catch for 6 yards 0 TD
8 targets, 2 catches for 9 yards 0 TD
2 targets, 1 catches for 8 yards 0 TD
6 targets, 5 catches for 28 yards 0 TD
10 targets, 5 catches for 48 yards 0 TD

Thats Amari Cooper in games not also including KC game

Cook actually having a quietly good season for a team having a down year
Well, I can't reconcile the numbers he's put up this year as "quietly good"... but maybe I'm expecting too much of him.

Boy, I dunno... looks like he's still inconsistent and pretty mediocre.

Game one (DEN): 8 targets, 3 receptions, 46 yards, 0 TDs
Game two (BAL): 6 targets, 3 receptions, 25 yards, 0 TDs
Game three (LAC): 3 targets, 2 receptions, 14 yards, 0 TDs
Game four (KC): 7 targets, 6 receptions, 107 yards, 0 TDs
Game five (BUF): 5 targets, 4 receptions, 57 yards, 0 TDs

With the exception of the KC game, he's been a non-factor.

Sounds pretty typical to me.

Glad he's not on the Rams.. that's for sure.

Ok,

then put up our TE's....in a prolific offense....with a TE friendly coach....put up Everett's, Higbies, and that other new guys stats....:puke:

I'm not bashing them either....they just aren't threats...don't even need to game plan for them...

See what you want tho...

Toughest part of OUR schedule coming up....I'll focus on that...

He will never live up to that ridiculous contract the Rams signed him to, nor can he make up for the prevent offense that Fisher installed after 4 games of his "opened up" version. As a pass catcher, he makes some great plays and makes some head scratchers. But that is actually more common than you think. Just dont see it in other players when we dont focus on their issues.
One thing is for sure, he's playing leaps and bounds better than his former cohort in Lance Kendricks...

Why do I get the feeling you will be rooting for the Rams to fail, especially against Wentz and the Eagles?

Winning is great.. but the way it colors people's lens sometimes is interesting.

Jared Cook is pretty inconsistent and frustrating.. that being said he is still better than any of the tight ends we currently have... for now at least.

I'm not even saying he is good by any means.

It's just funny when you win how dudes that were bums are now the bestest and everyone else you used to have is garbage/bad attitude ect ect ect.

Toughest part of OUR schedule coming up....I'll focus on that...

Higbee: (average salary): $730,215
Through first 5 games:
21 targets, 10 receptions, 166 yards, 0 TDs

Everett: $1,511,117
Through first five games:
10 targets, 6 receptions, 150 yards, 0 TDs

Combined: $2,241,332
31 targets, 16 receptions, 316 yards, 0 TDs

Cook: $5,300,000
Through first five games:
29 targets, 18 receptions, 249 yards, 0 TDs

So, for $3,058,668 more, you get 2 less targets, 2 more receptions, 67 less yards and no TDs.

9 years in the league and that's what you get, compared to 2 inexperienced TEs.

Cook isn't anywhere near the outrageous contract his friend, Jeff Fisher, gave him... but he's still a model of under achiever.

But, yeah, see what you want. ;)

Kendricks is currently averaging $2 mil per year and is second on the depth chart... has 9 targets, 6 receptions, 94 yards and 1 TD
And, as we know, is generally known as a good blocker (unlike Cook).

Cooks numbers are above and he is #1 on the depth chart.

Given the value proposition, it still doesn't cast a very favorable light on the former Rams under-achiever.

Kendricks 2 mil for 9 receptions is 222k per catch.
Cook 5.3 mil for 31 recepions is 170k per catch.
Seems like Cook is a better value

You didn't factor in the TD that Kendricks has... that's worth $52k... it's a draw!!

Oh, the memories. :LOL: Thanks, Faceplant. I actually watched this again, and again. It is interesting to key in on each guy. A couple points;
  1. Quinn is the only guy from this scene that is still on the team
  2. Hayes is the man. He may be goofy, and have his fun with the mermaid and dinosaur stuff, but look how quick he grabs Cook and sets him straight.
Having said all of that, here are the official thoughts/words of each player, as the scene plays out:

Zac Stacy: (Yikes, that man's pissed off)
Brian Quick: "Hey Zac, man, what you doin' after the game?"
Jared Cook: (under his breath as he stomps off...) "F#&% this man...GET THAT SHIT OUT DAVIS!....Hey, hey Will! We boys..."
Austin Davis: "Put 'r there, Jared. You'll get 'em next t....whoh!......STOP!" (walks off, shocked)
Will Hayes: "Man COOK! What the F#%& is your problem! Focus on yourself! Catch the ball!"
Robert Quinn: "Man Jared, this is how their left tackle has been holding me. Just like this! All. Damn. Day long!"
Shawn Hill: (clapping) "All right fellas! Let's go now! That's the spirit! That's good energy there, Jared. Will. Love you guys! Hey now!"

Yeah you seen the times he's killed the Raiders by dropping guaranteed game changing plays or half ass blocking? My friends that are Raiders fans feel the same we did. Amazing talent and amazing ability but sometimes it's this

He had over 140 yards and 2 TDs in that Ram victory.

Sure.
What else did the team have?
Sometimes signings don't work out.
Scott Wells, Harvey Dahl....two more signing I liked on paper.

Most don't. To continuously rag on the guy (not you, some others here), though I think is ridiculous when you consider the reaction when he was signed.

we didn't know any better. none of us probably watched a titans game in our lives when he was on that team. then when we get to watch him every week you find out who he really is. and it wasn't pretty.

Well if you read articles you could judge on what you were getting....TE that flashed every now and then. And nothing has changed since then.

I still cringe when I remember a rookie honey badger running Cook down at the goal line and stripping him of the ball, right after a beautiful 50-yard reception. First down, Arizona, at the 20.

Yeah so what’s your point? One example your trying to bring to his defense? How about I roast you with the outwhelming pile of ineptitude that is Jared Cook as a Ram.
