Fucking Tarkenton.... that dude was houdiniRaise your hand if you're old enough to remember the "Mud Bowl". Vikings cursed us again and beat us without Tark.

He made the comment when the Bears hired him that he wanted to keep beating LaFleur but I always took that as a healthy rivalry type deal. And he just knocked them out of the playoffs so that's delivering on your rivalry talk.A grey area, maybe. Some people thought Ben Johnson was just being "fiery" about a rivalry, others thought he showed "poor class." I for one don't like the way he talks dismissively about Matt LaFleur. I think it's immature. Other people might think he's awesome, though.
Not necessarily because of the unknown. Evans could have pinned them deep. He had avg'd 45yds. After that everything is unknown that could have happened, fumble, int, safety or whatever.I would argue the blocked punt was a blessing in disguise.
The Panthers ended up scoring in like a minute which left us with plenty of time and all of our timeouts to take back the lead. Alternatively, if the punt went off and Panthers got possession at their own 30 and drove the field then we wouldn’t have had much/any time to answer.
It goes back to the thread that was getting some action last week, would you rather be on offense or defense at the 2 min warning of a 1 score game? I choose Stafford
Were playing in their house and I highly doubt there will be a Rams take-over in that stadium.... We have trouble taking over our own stadium.
Were gonna force Caleb to have a bad game, and we'll take advantage of it.
I literally said good now we will have time left.I would argue the blocked punt was a blessing in disguise.

I like the correctionFIFY

Whatever it takes to get the damn defense off the damn field to get the ball back in the "soul taker" handsI literally said good now we will have time left.
It’s like madden out there. Team with ball last has the advantage.
Just like OT. Cuz last team will be going for it on 4 downs.
I’d take Stafford and this Oline and WRs all day over trusting our defense to make a play or Shula to dial up something.
Definitely. That was our reprieve from the Ice Bowl and Minnesota QB named Kapp. Didn’t work out so well because LA got an intense rain storm and the field was a mess. Vikings QB was Bob Lee. Chuck Foreman ran for 100 yards. Joe Namath’s last game on LA Rams roster.Raise your hand if you're old enough to remember the "Mud Bowl". Vikings cursed us again and beat us without Tark.

He broke his clavicle again, same spot supposedly, so didn't heal enough. So did the force of the wind of receivers blowing past him dislocate Witherspoons shoulder?
McVay’s a different person in the locker room with the team. I’m sure he’s got some choice words. Rams are just classy enough not to put it out on media. Johnson has his style and it’s been successful in his FIRST YEAR as a head coach. McVay’s style has weathered 9 mostly successful seasons. He made the comment when the Bears hired him that he wanted to keep beating LaFleur but I always took that as a healthy rivalry type deal. Don't get me wrong, I love how McVay is classy. But I see nothing wrong with a fiery bastid of a coach either, as long as he's good at what he does.
Nothing wrong with that. Heat of the moment. Now one could argue maybe the team shouldn't post it up. But why not own it.
Nope, Fran broke his fibula in November of that year. Bob Lee (future Ram) was 5/10 for 57 yards.Fran wasn't the QB during that game?
Ben Johnson is an amazing coach, no doubt about that. Unreal what he did with the Lions and now the Bears. I don't even mind the locker room speech.
But that post-game "handshake" with LaFleur rubbed me the wrong way. Johnson made a point of running right by him and barely acknowledging him. Johnson had the dismissive vibe of "I gotta do this for the cameras but fuck you."
I'm sure most Bear fans love him. I just way prefer McVay's vibe.
Below is a link to an article where numerous commentators thought Johnson's "handshake" was lame and childish. Different people can have different takes on the video of the "handshake."

Dick Vitale Slams Bears' Ben Johnson for 'Classless' Move After Win Over Packers
Vitale didn’t like what Johnson said after the Bears beat the Packers in Saturday’s wild-card playoff game.www.si.com
Dollars to doughnuts Matt LaFluer is trying to feed McVay everything he has ever learned about the Bears this week.
