I would think if they bring in Cousins that they probably don't prioritize QB this year. Maybe a flyer late who they could stash on the PS, but not much more.
I agree. Despite being the same age as Stafford, he's got a bit less wear on him. So if they can control KC for 2-3 years they can wait for next year's class
The way I see it, with JG he could win a game or 2 if he had to fill in, whereas Cousins could be a backup starter that could still compete for division and beyond

He said in another interview the same day he wants Jimmy G as well.Don’t know if that is to put pressure on him or not ?

Did look like he might take Cousins over him as well.Tgat has still yet to be determined either way ?

IMO Sean Mcvay is all in on this season & will deal with 2027 when that time comes. He did talk about the stress of maybe having to
GO with Jummy G as his starter in2026.

Jimmy G already know the Rams offense and player tendencies. It would take Cousins some time to get that all figured out.

The Rams would have a much better chance of success with Jimmy G taking snaps if the unthinkable happens. The Rams would win 60% of their games with Jimmy G. IMO we would get are asses kicked if Cousins or Stetson was our QB.
Cousins would do just fine. Also apparently you don't pay attention to Rams games. We rarely get our asses handed to us. We'll play close heart wrenching, blood pressure raising games all day though.

If Garoppolo signs elsewhere you might even see McVay go back to the well with John Wolford

If no JG, then Tyrod Taylor?

The remaining questions, hypothetically, if no JG, would be: does the money work and would he be ok with possibly getting 0 snaps all year?

Edit: I like the pseudo-mini-redemption arc possibilities. The last time Tyrod was scheduled to start for the home team in Sofi, the doc punctured his lung, launching the Herbert era.

In a worst case scenario and Stafford goes down for a long stretch, who are you guys going to run the offense through? And don’t say Jimmy Garrapolo.
In the event Stafford goes down for a long stretch I want to lose games so we draft high in the 2027 NFL draft. This is why I don't sign an experienced backup who's gonna come in and give us .500 ball and fuck up our chances of getting McVay a new QB1.

Also this year I'd take one of these midround types. We all have our preferences of those options, but all of them have holes in their games or come with shit tons of projection. So just pick one and hopefully he turns into a QB2 for the 2027 season.

The goal in this draft should be to draft a QB2 mid to late. And finding early contributors in the first few rounds of picks to increase our title odds.

I disagree I believe with Jimmy Garoppolo the Rams could still win games and win in post season too. That is why I bring him back. Options are dwindling and if they even entertain the thought at bringing back Wolford as @dieterbrock suggest, I am jumping off of the Tallahatchie Bridge.

Agree with this. I've always thought Jimmy could both "hold the fort" during a short-term Stafford injury, and if disaster struck and Stafford went out for the season we would still have a chance at winning it all with Garoppolo. Of course, trading up for Love would help this equation greatly :zipper::zipper::zipper:
