I get it, but I for one am glad this regime is going for it. We sucked for far too long.

They were awful because they had the WRONG people in charge. Jeff Fisher didn't have a clue on how to draft well and/or run and real offense.

Yes, this team is obviously stacked to the gills for next year, but I don't want a Jeryy Jones type mentality here. That is Jones after 1996.

Fans are concerned about the long term view, not just next year. I doubt anyone would argue that Cooks won't be more productive than the 23.

Key will obviously be that they have to maximize the 3rd, three 4ths, & the four 6ths. Then they have to extend a couple of the young starters like Peters, Havenstein, Brown, and Cooks, maybe even Suh for another yr or two to buy time as they regain a few full draft classes down the road.

My concern is will their OL fall apart on them if they lose Havenstein and Brown with Whitworth and Sullivan aging?

in the 3rd and 4th and need (IMO) to find two future starting O-linemen who can backup next year more effectively than their backups last year and a starting linebacker.

I meant typically in terms of a window.
And being sustainable is just your opinion.
So this back and forth accomplished nothing.
I prefer Cooks over Watkins.
PS....I agree with it being sustainable as a longer period of time.

The Patriots sustained it for 18 years....fact lol.

Like I said though, Cooks is a decent player who had the quietest 1000 yard season I can remember. Feels like Thomas or Reynolds could of given us something. With the way they drafted last year it hurts me to see them trade their first, which again is too expensive IMO. I want this FOnto draft high! They are really good at it! Lol

I'm thinking the Rams will have 16 prime time games this years , everyone is going to want to watch and see how this all plays out.................lol

You mean 19, including the Superbowl? (y)

Another thing to consider, Cooks has been consistent with 2 Hall of Fame quarterbacks. He is entering his prime, with quite a bit of wisdom. And production.

Besides, he already developed rapport in College with this years starter!!

The bright side is that the Rams wont have to worry about drafting another stud in the 1st rd and trying to pay him on top of AD, TG and Goff. After that 3 yr run the Rams can survive 2 yrs without a 1st rd pick and save a little $ to pay the 3 untradeable players listed.

The Lions have sustained there window for decades too.
That would be a tough call for me in regards pulling bentrigger on this deal or hanging into 23.

Brandin Cooks isn't quite Odell, but he brings none of Odell's baggage. He's worth the 23rd overall pick to a team that lost Sammy Watkins. He's better than Sammy Watkins. The Rams are now better than the Eagles.
