Pete Carroll puzzled by reports suggesting Kam Chancellor out for the season

Reports circulated around the NFL on Saturday morning suggesting Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor is done for the season after suffering a neck injury in Seattle's 22-16 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 10.

But Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't quite ready to announce a potential roster move just yet.

"I don't know where that's coming from," Carroll said on Saturday of the multiple reports suggest Chancellor would be out for the rest of the season with a neck injury.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo was the first to report the Seahawks safety is done for the year. ESPN's Josina Anderson later added Chancellor would likely land on injured reserve with a neck injury.

Following the news, the four-time Pro Bowler took to social media to thank fans for their thoughts and prayers.

Chancellor did not practice this week following the stinger injury he sustained in the fourth quarter of Thursday's contest. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll didn't reveal much information regarding the strong safety's neck injury, but said he will continue to seek out medical opinions.

He repeated that ahead of Monday's matchup with the Falcons.

"We're still looking at what our options are and we'll continue to do that and evaluate what's going on," Carroll said. "We're working very closely with him on that."

If the reports are indeed true, Chancellor will be the second Legion of Boom member to be lost this week. Cornerback Richard Sherman sustained a ruptured Achilles injury against the Cardinals on Thursday and was placed on injured reserve earlier this week.

The Seahawks are fortunate to have backup safety Bradley McDougald, who will start on Monday if Chancellor is unable to go.

It seems Pete hasn't talked to Kam to get the news and is confused.

Pete is just trying to withhold info. Sounds like Kam is out for awhile.
I'll believe the unguarded comments from Earl Thomas about how hard it would be to play without Chancellor and Sherman...
