This actually concerns me as it was rumored that the Rams were interested in bringing him in as a backup last time.
Well, he’s a likeable guy that was loved by teammates at each stop. He’s capable of winning games and knows the system. He’s a good fit as a backup, if he’s healthy and likely a better fit than Wentz since he knows the scheme really well.

Sure, sure, sure that's all good and stuff. But then we can't make fun of him anymore and that just seems wrong to me.

Zero motivation for many of those guys to take a minimum deal now.

Waiting for an injury has proven the better way to end up in a situation where you can boost your value.
‘Minimum deal’ … I agree … little motivation.

But a $2-$3M deal, with incentives tied to playing time? Maybe Yes.

One or two might be interested, especially to join a quality / high profile organization, with a highly regarded offensive head coach and a tough veteran QB that is willing to take big hits.

Veterans like Wentz, and MAYBE, Tannehill, Garoppolo, Flacco, might be interested. It only takes one.

Believe in Magic you Muggle!

Wait... you mean I can't just post Joe Montana's career numbers next to Wentz?!?

Joe would be such a better backup to Wentz.

I was thinking Kurt Warner, but

Playing a few games under McVay sure boosted Mayfield's value. I know these guys typically take the most money. But all things being equal playing for McVay could be a career changer for someone. I would not be surprised if Wentz and Garoppolo are still available well after most backups have signed. They'll probably wait was long as possible for the best deal possible. The longer it takes the cheaper it will be to sign one. I think after what Flacco did last year he won't have to wait as long.

Sure we can, it would just be that his penchant for over the hill porn stars would become an endearing quality

Concerns me too. Jimmy G, Wentz, and Fields thru a trade are just about the only QBs left outside the draft. I honestly don't think McCarthy (Giants), Nix (Vikings) or Penix (Raiders) will be available at 19 so I don't know what the hell the plan is right now. I thought Howell might be an option til Seattle traded for him. Almost gotta be Wentz, right? Do the Rams know if Stetson's head is screwed on right yet, no offense intended? If it's Jimmy G then so be it, hopefully he would have to only play at the back end of Rams blowouts (of course with us winning). Damn, I should drink less before posting.

I don't know why but RoD won't let me paste the whole article. Keeps giving me errors but supposedly he's still planning on playing football.

Kirby Smart says Stetson Bennett is hoping for an opportunity with Los Angeles Rams or another NFL team

The latest on the former Georgia quarterback.

Stetson Bennett was spotted last week working out in Texas, one of the first appearances since the quarterback was placed on the reserve/NFI list by the Los Angeles Rams in mid-September. Speaking at the Macon Touchdown Club on Monday, Kirby Smart opened it up for questions, and the first one was asking for an update on Bennett.

"Stetson is doing well," Smart said. "He went back to Dallas to train where he trained last year. He trained with Patrick Mahomes' trainer and some different people there. So he wanted to go back to that same footprint where he was training previously. The Rams still have him there. They have gotten other quarterbacks (Jimmy Garoppolo), but he's hopeful that he gets an opportunity there or he'll get picked up by somebody else.

Bennett returned to Athens in November where he was recognized during the game against Ole Miss in a special ceremony after being awarded The Burlsworth Trophy, which goes to college football's most outstanding player who began his collegiate career as a walk-on.

"He's been in our place during the season and he went out to Dallas to train with the other rising draft picks, so he trained with a group that was one year below him," Smart said.

Last month, Rams head coach Sean McVay also provided an update on Bennett and his status.

Well, maybe turning 30 has Stetson more reflective about his career.

(Yes, that’s a joke)

If we can move him for a pick, or even a pick swap, I think we will.

I hope he drop, and I’m not a huge fan, but Spencer Rattler is supposedly highly regarded by many teams. He has great pop on his throws and throws over the middle, plus he was reported to be good in interviews. So, you have intelligence, communication, anticipation and a strong arm. He seems like a fit for the Rams physically.

However, what I don’t like, is his size (6’-0””) and immaturity.

Previously I felt that the character concerns and height would be negatives for McVay. However, the just drafted a QB with similar red flags. So, do they like the moxie or say, we got burned once, never again. Snead has a propensity for repeating mistakes.

Lack of height and questionable decisions when it comes to backup QB seems to be their norm. At least Bennett was a winner. WTF was John Wolford or Brett Rypien? I know we didn't draft them but we rolled with them just the same.

I don't use this term without careful thought, but Bennett comes across as a complete d-bag and an absolute wasted pick as a short, 4th round pick with entitlement issues. I could be convinced to change my mind, but he would need to really step up. The Rams still own him and should not even consider letting him walk for anything less than a 6th. Absent that, he can go sell cars somewhere!!
