Where's Westbrooks? He signed a deal.

I really thing Donnal is gonna step up...again...he was really improved. He probably wins the swing tackle role...if they aren't planning to start him at center. Iowa guys can move around like that.

I also think Hagar is getting a little underrated. He always could run...and he made a play vs Seattle that finally broke up the legion of boom. LOL

Brian Randolph can play FS & SS

North is a player as well....North, Thomas and McRoberts still are eligible for the PS?

Still too soon...I don't see Mannion on the team...but McVay loves the smart guys...sons of coaches...
I bet $100 ROD that Spruce makes the roster.
show some faith...raise it to $10 thousand....

One thing I was thinking riding home the other night. Spruuuce lives off of slights and disrespect. He'll take this drafting of Kupp personal....and he's gonna compete like hell. I don't see the ability to beat anyone out...but that's what makes this game fun. If you don't think he's coming to compete...and start in 2017...you don't know the kid.

He signed, but I doubt it's guaranteed if he doesn't make the team. I don't like his fit on our 3-4, and both he and Longacre fell off during 2016. I prefer him as a 4-3 DE. Trinca-Pasat & Tanzil Smart beat him out imo.

Agree, but for this mock-up I gave the nod to Thomas because of his special teams skills.

Spruce can do returns and he won't be a slouch on coverages. Thomas is a + coverage guy, but need to remember a guy like him is going to need to show growth as a WR depth option as well to win his roster spot.

I think Cooper has an advantage on both of them due to his draft status, it's a different regime but he undoubtedly had more value to McVay too when he was with the Skins evaluating both him and Nelson. That said, I think it's a 3 way deal with Cooper, Thomas, and Spruce fighting for roster survival.

Camp and preseason games gonna be fun to watch dudes!

I agree with your list for the most part, @Riverumbbq. Here's how I would do it:

QB: Jared Goff, Sean Mannion, Aaron Murray.

RB: Todd Gurley, Lance Dunbar, Malcolm Brown.

FB: Sam Rogers.

TE: Gerald Everett, Tyler Higbee, Temarrick Hemingway.

WR: Tavon Austin, Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, Josh Reynolds, Pharoh Cooper, Mike Thomas.

LT: Andrew Whitworth, Pace Murphy.

LG: Rodger Saffold, Andrew Donnal.

C: John Sullivan, Cody Wichmann.

RG: Jamon Brown, Greg Robinson.

RT: Rob Havenstein, Greg Robinson.

LE: Dominque Easley, Tanzel Smart.

NT: Michael Brockers, Tyrunn Walker.

RE: Aaron Donald, Louis Trinca-Pasat.

ILB: Alec Ogletree, Mark Barron, Josh Forrest, Bryce Hager.

OLB: Robert Quinn, Connor Barwin, Samson Ebukam, Ejuan Price, Folarin Oromilade.

CB: Trumaine Johnson, Kayvon Webster, Nickell Robey-Coleman, E.J. Gaines, Michael Jordan.

FS: Lamarcus Joyner, John Johnson, Cody Davis.

SS: Maurice Alexander, Brian Randolph.

K: Greg Zuerlein.

P: Johnny Hekker.

LS: Jake McQuaide.

KR: Pharoh Cooper.

PR: Tavon Austin.

Practice Squad: Nelson Spruce (WR), Morgan Fox (OLB), Aaron Green (RB), Anthony McMeans (C), Carlos Thompson (OLB). Justin Davis (RB), Jake Eldrenkamp (C), Cassanova McKinzey (ILB), Dravious Wright (CB), Marquis Christian (S).

Starters are in bold.

(I'm releasing Longacre and Westbrooks because they don't really fit in a 3-4. I'm also releasing/trading Cory Harkey. I don't think that Robinson is going to start, but he's useful as a backup who can play four positions, so he's staying for now.)

I'd really be surprised if GRob is the back-up, that truly signals he's done as a Ram following the season. I'd like to believe that Kromer can get him back on-track at RG or RT.

Murphy/Williams is looking like one of the great camp battles to watch out for.

With McVay's emphasis on 2 & 3 TE sets, i'm banking on a 4'th TE over a 5'th OLB. And Harkey may be the only one of them with a blocking pedigree.

Looks like everything else is in pretty much of agreement. I like it !

This going to be one fun camp.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if G-Rob turned out to be a swing tackle/guard. I personally believe that Havenstein and Brown could beat him out.

I chose Murphy, but to be honest, it's pretty close competition between him and Williams. I just believe that Murphy is more versatile.

I get wanting a fourth tight end, but a guy could be picked up at the final cuts. And I really, really like Orimolade's production.

I would not be shocked if Rogers starts on the practice squad and Harkey sticks. Hemmingway may or may not. My guess is he needs a very good camp just not to get cut.

Flotsam and jetsam:

For reference: Redskins offense from their 53 last year
QBs:3
RBs:3
TEs:3
WRs:6
OL: 9

There was no fullback on the roster last year for Washington(at the start of the season at least). Only 3 TEs were kept.

I'm not sure we signed QB Murray to a contract just to cut him after camp??

Like I said above, I don't see Hemmingway making the roster unless he really really shows up in camp and probably needs to show up as a blocker first and foremost (not sure that's his strong suit). I just don't see him beating out a veteran like Harkey who can block in the backfield as long as Harkey doesn't lay an egg himself in camp.

DL to me seems the most fascinating battle with OL right behind it. No idea how depth guys will fit the new scheme.

Joyner gives them flexibility to keep one less corner perhaps.

Just taking a stab at it. No doubt either a UFDA or a camp cut from another team moves up, but as of today ...
How are you guys seeing it ?

Offense (25) :

QB - Goff, Mannion

LT - Whitworth, Williams
LG - Saffold, Donnal, Brown
C - Sullivan, Wichmann
RG - Havenstein, Brown
RT - Robinson, Donnal

RB - Gurley, Dunbar, Brown

FB - Rogers

TE - Higbee, Everett, Hemingway, Harkey

WR - Austin, Woods, Kupp, Reynolds, Cooper, Thomas

Defense (25) :

NT/DT - Brockers, Walker
LDE - Easley, Smart, Walker
RDE - Donald, Trinca-Pasat

OLB - Quinn, Barwin, Ebukam, Price or Carlos Thompson
ILB - Ogletree, Barron, Forrest, Hager

SS - Alexander, I. Johnson, Barron
FS - Joyner, J. Johnson, Randolph, Davis

CB - T. Johnson, Webster, EJ Gaines, Robey-Coleman, Jordan, Joyner

Special Teams :

P - Hekker
K - Zuerlein
LS - McQuaide

Practice Squad :

OLB - Carlos Thompson or Ejuan Price
ILB - Cassanova McKinzy
DE/OLB - Morgan Fox (not sure if still eligible)
RB - Aaron Green, Justin Davis
DB - Marquis Christian
CB - Blake Countess
WR - Nelson Spruce, Paul McRoberts
C/OG - Anthony McMeans

Good list... I'd disagree with a couple...I think Harkey is probably gone....Spruce has put on a lot of muscle and I think he could bump Thomas..as a WR and a special teams guy. That seems like a lot of Safeties too....and I'm pretty sure we'll keep 3 QBs.....

I agree and how scary would it be to be knee deep into a winnable game and have GRob come in cold off the bench after not having played all season? Yikes.

Find Robinson a starting position in camp or just cut bait if he doesn't earn it.

Agree, GRob off the bench in a contract year makes little sense when we have others with a future available now. I don't think it's quite that bad anyway, ... pretty sure Kromer can get him playing better as a primary run blocker on the right side than in pass pro from the blind side. jmo

Clearly, there will be some intense camp battles. And I do mean intense.

For one thing, this staff has made it clear that best players will play. No more Fisher sacred cows that keep getting endless 2nd chances.

For another, the talent is deeper than it's been in years, maybe even 12-15 years. So, no more country club atmosphere will be tolerated.

At WR, I think Thomas is iffy. It seems obvious that McVay puts great emphasis on good hands in his receivers, both WR and TE's. I love Spruce, but as has been pointed out, inside or slot is now just loaded. Marquez is a crowd favorite, but I'm not sure he makes the 53, either. The 5th and 6th spots are definitely up in the air, tbh.

Gonna be extremely difficult to cut Longacre and Westbrooks. Trade, maybe?

The secondary position battles are gonna be epic, too. Some good football players are gonna have to be cut.

Well, LB is gonna be a knock down, drag out, too. Wade has some serious decisions to make at all 3 levels of his D before opening day. Nice problem to have, though.

Tavon will make the 53, obviously. But I foresee an increasing reduction in his snaps as the rookies get acclimated. By midseason, if not sooner, I see Tavon as a non starter. By midseason he will be 4th best WR. Hell, that might be true by opening day.

I'm sure that there were many sighs of relief among most of our OL players as the draft wound down with no OL taken. Lol.

Until I see evidence otherwise, I predict Hav at starting RT and Brown at starting RG. GRob will be swing off the bench. Of course, camp and PS games could change this in a big way, but that's my personal prediction at this time. I just don't think GRob has it between the ears.

Gonna be the most interesting camp in years. Our esteemed camp reporters better have their heads on swivels and be talking into recorders, dammit! No time for taking notes. Lol.

I too have said GRob ends up as swing guy as he isn't able to process the game good enough to start. Kramer would have to some serious magic to made GRob a solid starting OL men. GRob isn't even a lock to make the team. If he can't start then agree will cutting him and giving someone else w/ "upside" his bench spot.

I too think Brown will bounce back and win the ROG in training camp and forcing Hav to stick as our starting RT. Tavon is only a PR in my eyes, can't stress that enough. That and we have too many slot options that can catch and run better routes than him. JMO. Plus we might add a vet interior OL men that been cut in August that can start for us.

I can actually see Tavon being cut for his lack of route running. The old add-edge of new staff didn't draft him so its easier for them to move on from him. Only one year of dead cap so its "do-able" from a cap prospective I'm guessing.

You have ten offensive linemen there, but I do like all ten.
