I'd rather just bring back Vermeil if we are bringing up fantasy scenarios:rolllaugh:

The coaches I like the most are... Jimmy Harbough, Carrol and Arians. I kinda like the wacky coaches. Just sucks these guys all happened to be in the NFC West currently or in the past.

If Carrol were to coach this team I would be ecstatic. It's nothing I would ever expect however.

David Shaw seems like he would make for a good pro coach ?? I just think he gets even more conservative than Fisher at times.

Pete Carroll and John Schneider a package for LA in 2017?

No extension thus far for Pete and John and allegedly the Rams are thinking about extending Jeff Fisher and Les Snead. But, Why would the Rams rush to extend Fisher and Snead prior or during the 2016 season.

Pete Carroll is a huge name in LA and some have communicated this about throughout social media...IMO, everything will stay the same, but if there are no extensions and the Rams don't win Pete Carroll back at the Coliseum would be Hollywoodesque.

Merlin suggested just this possibility a few months ago, den.

It's making more and more sense as time rolls on, if you ask me.

The Seahawks would be fools to allow either Carroll or Schneider get away. I just can't believe that it will happen.

But if Fisher turns in another lackluster season, and Carroll is sitting there for Kroenke to grab...

How could he pass that up?

I'm a big Snead fan. Make that a huge Snead fan. Especially if he's unfettered by Fisher.

But I've gotta say that Schneider would be mighty tempting, wouldn't he?

---BOO -That would be a horrible choice !! Call AARP . If he signed a contract with The Rams he barley remember his name when his tenure would be up.

Carroll is 64... thats not that bad. Tom Coughlin was coaching at age 69 last year. If he's still winning the age concerns me none.

Obviously though this thread is all hypothetical's.

Great discussion and although ESK and Ann Walton Kroenke combined have a ton of money, they a trumped by Seahawk's owner Paul Allen...IMO I truly believe Fisher is going to win this year so the discussion will be moot, however, if both the Rams and Seahawks under perform I could see both teams making changes, but in the end both teams will likely maintain their current hierarchy.

Uh....didn't he help cause a scandal at USC? As far as recruiting, etc? And then escape like a rat when the consequences came down?

I would think he is persona non grata in the Coliseum. I hope he is booed and super uncomfortable week 2.

:rant:And needs a Heimlich to punch out a wad of gum!

I am a USC fan, and I despise Pete Carroll He did indeed leave the Trojan proram in tatters as he escaped to the NFL. I hate his guts now...screw him:hatin:

I don't see him as more conservative than Fisher, in fact, Shaw has an offensive background and is a former OC so I would feel he would open it up more IMHO.

Coaching career (HC unless noted)
1995
Western Washington (OLB)
1996 Western Washington (TE)
1997 Philadelphia Eagles (QC)
1998–2000 Oakland Raiders (QC)
2001 Oakland Raiders (QB)
2002–2004 Baltimore Ravens (QB/WR)
2005 Baltimore Ravens (WR)
2006 San Diego (PGC/WR)
2007–2009 Stanford (OC/WR)
2010 Stanford (OC/RB)
2011–present Stanford

You can put all that stuff as you would like.I've seen him get conservative in the bigger games. I'm not going to say he would not be a better coach than Fisher. I'm at the point were I'm not his bigger fan. I actual think he might want to do a coke commercial.
--That said I like The Rams coaching staff as a whole.Really think the offense can start to take off. They have an excellent foundation right now.Almost think that was the plan

Better yet --- F the Sea Hags & Carroll . I hope The Rams just put some more whip azz on Wilson !! What is the bounty on him ?? Look at all the QB's The Rams took out mat year.
Why not hire Williams, I think his defense will be better than Pete's .

What a depressing thread. I like it better when I'm blissfully ignorant thinking all Rams fans are united in the same hatreds. Instead pretty much every coach I despise most is named above. All that's missing is somebody comparing Goff to Montana for no other reason but to allow me to dry heave from deep down and at least get a decent ab workout.

Do you want a candidate to be best man at your wedding, Fatbot?

Or do you want the best possible HC to win games for the Rams?

I'm all about the latter.

Carroll, Jim Harbaugh, and Arians may not be at the head of my next Thanksgiving table, but they can all coach rings around Jeff Fisher based on the evidence of the last 4 years.

I would trade Fisher straight up for any of them in a heartbeat.

I'd prefer Snead and probably a few others over him.
Schneider's overall track record/resume is good but he's had one outstanding draft in 2012 as a GM(Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner, Russell Wilson, Robert Turbin) but his drafts have been poor since then. They've been picking lower but that has never stopped the better GM's from grabbing substantial talent.
His FA track record doesn't stand out to me either. IIRC even Marshawn Lynch was brought in before Schneider arrived.

I think he's a bit overrated at this point.

IF Fish doesn't win this year and I were the owner I'd fire him. By that I am saying it has to be 9 wins or more.

Were that to happen, I'd be all over Pete Carroll to interview assuming he's not extended in Seattle. BUT, that said he wouldn't be the only one. I'd also have Mike Shanahan on that short list.

Like many of ya'll I'm holding out hope that Fish gets it going and coaches us to a 10 - 6 record and the playoffs. But if he doesn't and the losing and mediocrity continues then I'm ready to move on from him.

Having said all of that I think we already have Fisher's replacement should he fail to win this year. I'd like to see Gregg Williams get a second chance at being a HC. Sure he had a rough go of it in Buffalo but who has won anything up there in the last 20 years?
This would be advantageous in many ways not the least that it would provide continuity for our defense which I am counting on being elite this year and going forward.

Naturally I would want him to bring in the best offensive minds that he could muster but with the defense he runs along with an improved offense I think he could be the winner we are looking for.

idk if you watch stanford much, but Shaw is crazy conservative

Part of the frustration i feel is that i believe Fisherball can be successful in these "modern" playoffs(with more stable QB play). We've seen teams with similar styles and philosophy (as the Rams) wreck some of the other elite teams that mostly rely on offensive dominance, QB play and the uptempo passing game. Teams like Seattle, Carolina, Baltimore, Denver have dictated and frankly beat up on teams recently that looked like world beaters in the regular season.

Gotta qualify to prove it though. I'll start to lose patience with Fisher very quickly without a winning record this season.

While I agree it would be a story for Hollywood, I think I would be ill for a full season. I don't like Pete Carroll and it isn't just because he is a Seahawk. I just don't like his coaching style, his antics on and off the field, or his pressroom persona.
