I think they have done the best they could with the options available after picking Goff. The CBA limited what they could get done before the start of the season and he certainly didn't look ready, if anything he looked like an injury waiting to happen. I don't think Keenum is great but he isn't bad if he could get some help.

I'm more disappointed with Gurley than I am Keenum, I had much higher expectations for Gurley's production the Keenum's.

And they made things worse by not prioritizing getting Goff up to speed. Instead of giving him as many reps as possible, they gave them to Case Keenum.

They did give them to Keenum but I don't think they had much of a choice with what they saw. There was something said about his diet and getting him to beefed up a little besides the obvious lack of experience and coming from a glorified high school program.

And during what was perceived as the beginning of a soft spot in the schedule, Keenum has 7 INT in his last 3 games. This is where your term botched it really rings true.
Keenum was supposed to be the guy who protects the ball. And he hasnt

I want to see Goff play. I try to be optimistic, but it's not working too well. I'm starting to lose interest. If they continue to play Keenum and he can't get the Rams over .500 in the next 3 or 4 games, then I'm done going out of my way to watch the Rams until Goff starts playing or Fisher is fired.

How many of those 7 are on the WRs? How many were the result of trying to get something done in the last two minutes to win the game?
If Austin had just knocked that ball down instead of tipping up for the pick six how many of the other 3 in England don't happen? Or if Britt runs the route instead of breaking down half way through it, does he catch that for a TD? Some many plays are dependent on the prior plays who knows what happens if they are all performing better? And, that's not on the coaches. The plays have been there and the players have not executed as a whole.
I know you said you don't like blaming others for the QBs performance how can that be when the offense as a whole all depend on each other?

Yeah no. I don't buy in to the excuses because there were plenty of great catches that count as completions and bad passes that could been picked. Bad luck is there but it all equals out.
Keenum just isn't very good

There's always something being said. Fact is that a number of other teams managed to get their QBs up to speed by Week 1 over the past 5-10 years. Many of those QBs were spread QBs. Many of those QBs didn't light it up in the preseason.

But the Rams made a choice to allow Goff to sit because Keenum was supposed to be able to hold down the fort until the Rams determined that Goff was ready. That didn't happen.

How many games did you think they would win over the first 7 with Keenum starting? The homer in me says 5 but 3 or 4 was more likely.

Great catches/moves by the WR that resulted in a TD. This play for example is a TD because of Quick not Keenum.

Forgot the blue font but thanks I still enjoy seeing them

From the small amount of practice that I was able to watch today before being yelled at by security.... I saw Keenum taking the first team reps. So it isn't looking like Goff will get the start this week.

So he has performed "held down the fort" as you expected? ;)
3 or 4 wins leads to 7-9
If the team was destined to not make the playoffs, they were better off long term with Goff playing than Keenum

Not if it meant getting Goff a season ending injury

Why ever play him then?
You can't. If you remove Goff from his original packaging he would lose all collector's value.

Lol, so now Goff is going to get injured?
Why ever play him then?
It happened in the first preseason game didn't it? He could not read the defenses and was getting hit regularly and coughing up turnovers. So yea, his skinny ass could have easily been injured.
