Every time I saw him run with the football, swinging wide, my gut would clench waiting for the fumble.
Just heard Shady McCoy carries the rock like that in honor of Reggie Bush....reminds me of Wendle.....I don't think the style makes one fumble, Shady has excellent ball security...rather the not tucking it at the point of contact. As long as they can demonstrate strong hands...I have no problem with how one carries the ball...

I'm really into ypc....
He can’t pass protect,
Says who? We haven't seen him in a game TRY to passpro.....
Wait.... whut? You want to see if a RB fumbles in “real games..... consistently”?
Consistently...yes...lets see before we label a guy a fumble risk in the pros...if he hasn't...like...fumbled in a pro game...Remember Hunt last year? Fumbled first carry...then BAM!...magic...
You can run for 100 yards. Put it on the ground a couple times and you just screwed the team. RBs have to do both gain yards and not fumble. You live with the occasional fumble but you can’t have a back that shows that tendency.
Same as Todd Gurley during a stretch...they need a few games to determine if it's a problem....Let the guys PLAY....if they screw up...then we can say for certain..in an actual PRO GAME...they did this or that...

Either or bro.
give me a couple days....I'ma put up one...

dude, you are insane..Tyler would fumble with that style in the WORST possible way in the worst possible time. I would be literally screaming at the TV to tuck the ball in, when it got knocked out. He might be the worst fukkin tease of a RB in Rams history....

"Even the great ones goof, but few handle adversity as gracefully as Tyler, who has lifted the fumbling of footballs to an art form. He expected the subject to come up during the Super Bowl media blitz this week. He didn't exactly look forward to it, but he expected it. Tyler talks about fumbling as willingly as a reformed drunk talks about drinking, except that Tyler hasn't reformed. He fumbles as much as ever for the 49ers as he did for the Rams, and for UCLA before that. It seems Tyler has always fumbled." LA Times in 1985

I like Davis...I watched him as a USC fan before the Rams but lets just say this. Teams want to see how you do with limited opportunities. Players either rise to the occasion or break down underneath all of the pressure. With Davis he showed enough flash to make the roster but his fumbles are a concern until we see him not fumble this off-season. If he proves himself then he will make the roster.

Whichever guy can secure the football consistently could (should)win the backup spot. I like Brown because he knows where to run behind his blocking but he does have a couple fumbles in his limited carries as a Ram.

IMO most coaches weigh the playmaking and ball security and that guy wins. Martz wasn't one of those coaches but hey....

should I add his strengths that the other backs...no matter how much stronger they get...can't match? Davis appears to be a superior runner to every Ram not named Gurley.

Personally, I don't have a problem with a young back that fumbles....a lot of great backs fumble. I'd like to see if he fumbles in real games...consistently. Then I'd worry.

Alot of great backs have fumbles because they tote it alot. Great backs don't fumble away games(4th qtr) or fumble more than once in a game.

Wait.... whut? You want to see if a RB fumbles in “real games..... consistently”? Sorry but if he goes into the pre-season or even OTAs and is putting the ball on the turf, the LAST thing I want to see is if he’ll do it when we really need him to perform.

can you say Cleveland Gary
