A lot of posters here went apeshit when Shelton was signed. Saying we overpaid and screwed up.

There's hardly been a peep about him all year... which for an OL is a good thing.
Full admission, I thought Shelton was gonna be a weak link seems like when Avia Shelton dots and they’re all in. It’s a BFull admission, I thought Shelton was gonna be a weak link. Seems like when Avila, Shelton and Dots are all in It’s a B+ unit.

IMO, Shelton was brought back for his communication acumen and the way Limmer has looked this year, thank god they did. Now, this should not stop the Rams from drafting a player like Pat Coogan from Indiana. Perfect transition and Coogan is bigger, holds up very well at the point of attack and is also excellent at calling out protections. If the Rams make a move like that, nobody will be upset IMHO.
Excellent plan! There's got to be more than 1 reason than Mendoza for Indiana's success -- usually, on a college team that rises that fast, there's 2 - 3 players you can spot, other than the QB, who are making the team win games. e.g., the Mountaineers' Geno - Tavon - Stedman trio. imho, it was Stedman who was Geno's go-to guy, who helped him rack up all the yards & tuds. Stedman's college highlights tape.... it's STILL one of the greatest college WR highlights tape I've ever seen (altho ya I haven't watched very many lol). Man I would love to have seen what McVay could do with that kid in his prime.
Back to the OP -- yes, if this kid looks good & can call protections & is a level-up from CS, I'm down. I'd take him as early as late 2nd; alhough I'm really happy that CS has stepped up, it's a position we've been deficient at since Sullivan.

And yet we can do mock offseasons and replace him and people will lose their minds. It can be pointed out that while his pff trade is good he's not a great center likewise people will argue it with you.

I see a flawed player, hell most of the time people talk about how he got better when Avilla came back. Give me a guy who makes the guards better, the description of why he's gotten better to me describes a JAG.
I agree that we need a better center. However, Shelton is doing a capable job this year since he has Avila and Dotson next to him

Without them, he is a weak center and we could/need to do better.

While it's nice that he's gotten better as better play next to him wouldn't it be nice to have a center that likewise elevated the Guards who could then elevate the Tackles?
Sure it would be nice. But few teams have ever had all stars at every position. He's certainly not the worst center out there. Maybe we can upgrade in the off season. For now though, I just hope he stays healthy and continues to play at least at this level.

A lot of us don't care about PFF and realize it's a flawed grading system because the people doing the grading don't know the scheme or the assignments on each play they're assigning a good or bad grade on.

Lets also not pretend that he's been great. He's got a lot of plays out there on tape that proves people both right and wrong in their judging him.
I dont think anybody who thought the Rams were wrong to sign him were right. Yes he can get bull rushed but, in the rams sceem he isnt put in that position much. He is usually combo blocking. He is the one calling the line so we are not seeing many fuck ups. Also what we saw from Limmer this year also proves them right on the signing. So no. There really is no gray.

Doesn't have to be an all.pro to be an upgrade. Dotson has probably been our best OL for the last 3 years and no all pro or even pro bowls for him.

He didn't mention Dotson because Dotson has been delivering all season.

Also and again when Shelton has strong OGs on either side he can be protected.
He actually did in the video clip not shown!

KDot has been the best offensive lineman on the team this season and it's by a mile.

TRUTH imo is that ALL those F”Img people!! Including ME who wants to say TUTU ATWELL was a mistake over say that (what’s his name) a center. That player has an expensive contract? Which I don’t really know.

What I will say is Tutu Atwell is a guy SEAN MCVAY still LOVES! He believes IN & has patience in him coming back for THE PLAYOFFS (Green).
IMO - guys like Bubba Ram are WRONG!!! Say what you want, but Colman Shelton is UNDERRATED!!
He is the one helping with the Line calls.
Seeing the O”Line draw defenses offsides, plus Matthew Stafford likes the way he hikes the football. He is a Left Handed Snapper. He might not be as beefy as some, but he doesn’t miss his assignments.I don’t want to Jinx him this Sunday. The Hags have some Stud DT’s.We might see Ernest Jones coming on some delayed blitz’s ? Beaux Limmer needs time & Dedrich might make a good swing C/G.I like more beef at guard though inside, but the starters are all signed for 1 more season. Big Rob might be in his last season at RT.

Yeah - Sure in a perfect world it would be nice to have All Pro’s at every position.Mattew Stafford was on the record during OT’s say how nice it is having Coleman Shelton back at Center. - one can always dream though. There is a thing called the Salary Cap!!

Just funny how people continue to trace back to the past. Tutu Atwell will be a Solid Presence in the Playoffs!! That’s Sean Mcvays vision & imo he will open things up a few times in key situations.

Well @Loyal will probably be upset since he prefers micro wideouts in round 2.
