Way my view on this QB group is shaping up right now...

Mendoza goes at the top to the Raiders. Then you have a bunch of flawed options that can be sorted roughly into two groups. And all of them are probably round 3+ options.

First group is the "Association of Small QB2s Who May Be Outliers." This group has three at the top, to my eye at least, who are roughly equivalent, those being Simpson, Klubnik, and Gronowski. Then you have some dropoff and guys with more concerns or less skills, the Nussmeiers, Altmayers, etc who are more unlikely to develop into outliers. But this group as a whole can run a WCO offense for you for a short stretch if you give them a ground game.

Second group is the "Association of QBs Who Look The Part But Probably Aren't." These are your Becks, Allars, Paytons, Robertsons, Greens, etc. Probably all backups at best as well.

I think McVay will prefer the small group because they are moreso fits for an offense like his where the chains must be moved by the QB distributing the ball underneath due to the ground game not working. But when you're talking about a guy to sit the bench and redshirt I suppose it doesn't matter, may end up being which personality do they like best as a backup.

NO QB is going to beat out Stetson.
Mendoza is The QB of 2026 class.

What happens to Jimmy G is going to be interesting to watch before The Draft !!

IMO it’s always best to go with Tge Older(Experienced) QB. Drafting a rookie QB puts a franchise back a couple years.

Joe Flacco was an All Pro. Just look around with Colts,Cards .

I know they would never look at it this way, but you could go into next year with the idea that if Stafford stays healthy we have a Super Bowl contender, and if he gets hurt we get a top ten pick and a shot at a top QB. Of course you have the likley possibility that he misses 3 or 4 weeks, so you then need to be able to win 2 of those games. So a quality back up remains important in that scenario.

It's a valid point. Especially since we have been keeping our first round picks of late.

Also it would point to a rookie draft pick, if they did subscribe to that thinking. Taking a shot on a rook doesn't affect that. And if it does you probably hit on QB.

Hey Stafford dude! Please bring your ass back! You’re a bad ass first ballot Hall of Famer thats the face of the franchise. I for one will shed tears when you check out, not yet though. 1 more time!!

Them getting a top 10 pick in the event that Stafford gets injured depends on the who QB2 is. If it's Garoppolo, I think they'll still be very competitive, and win too much for a top 10 pick.

McVay is a strong enough coach that I don't see them getting a top 10 pick anytime soon.

Just bite the bullet and sign Malik Willis. Hope Stafford returns for one more year, Willis learns from he and McVay for that year, and 2027 is full speed ahead. Need to draft DB, edge, and SPEED on offense. Salary cap for 2027 is projected to be near $175M for the Rams. Free Agents would LOVE to play here. Willis is accurate, smart AND MOBILE. Everything Snead has wanted.

Um... You're seeing a trend I'm not aware of.
We have two of them this year. Open your eyes holmes.

If McVay really wants to explore and evolve his multiple TE sets, consider talking Kenyon Sidiq with the 13th pick. An absolute stud who can block, run down field patterns, screen passes - you name it. He is All-Pro potential in a few years. He and Ferguson with Puka and hopefully a SPEED receiver would be wild. Take the DB with the 29th pick then take another on day 2 along with the receiver.

I wasn't aware this year's draft had already occurred. Verse was our only 1st we've kept in 9 years. Ferguson was our first pick last year after trading our 1st yet again. I agree that it's pretty unlikely we don't draft at least one player in the first this year but it's not a given that we hold onto both of them.

Trade 4 1sts, 2026-28 and whatever else is needed to Buffalo for Josh.

Josh needs to demand a trade to Los Angeles for marital reasons.

SAVE Josh Allen!!!!

(While setting the Rams up to contend for the next 7 Super Bowls)
Pretty sure he literally just picked his next coach. Not sure that leads to him demanding a trade.

Yes true, one can dream though.

Next QB, after Stafford, want either Burrow, Lamar or Herbert.

"Established" guy.
Jackson had enjoyed Team-success up until last year.

Herbert has had Team-success the past two years.

Burrow ... ? ... not so much ... No playoffs for three staring seasons ... one more in 2026 would make four

This line of thinking that yeah we'll get one of the better young QB's in the game and he's our solution moving forward is comical.

Here's the entire list of all the 1st round picks made during the 8 NFL Drafts McVay has been part of
-Jared Verse
Yeah, he "might" double the number of first rd picks in this draft than he has utilized in his previous 9 drafts. Kind of amazing. Of course, there is a very good chance one ends up being traded out of rd 1.
