If the Rams did draft a QB in Round 1, I would vote for Ty Simpson, but not with the Atlanta pick at #5-10. I'd take him at 32, after the Rams win the Superbowl in Feb. I don't think any QB in the 2026 draft class is worth a top ten pick.
I don't think the Rams will get really serious about adding a QB until Stafford retires, but they might add a guy who drops unexpectedly.
Re trading for a star QB, I think most teams would give up three number 1's for Joe Burrow or Justin Herbert--hey, Russell Wilson was traded for two first rounders and Deshaun Watson was traded for three first rounders! The point is that very little chance those guys would be traded except under exceptional circumstances--i.e., the sexual assault charges against Watson. Hey, even the Lions didn't want to trade Stafford. I think the owners said they were only doing it so he would have a chance to win a Super Bowl. I don't want the Rams to do that, and I don't think they would even consider trading for a QB until after Stafford retires, of course, and I'm pretty sure that McVay loves Stafford and wants him back in 2026.
Finally, forget all of the above if one of those formerly-highly-rated QBs drops to Round 5 like Sanders did this year. If Klubnik or Nussmeier fell, I think the Rams might pounce--I DON'T think those guys will drop below Round 3, but who knows? The NFL is saturated with QBs, so you never know.
Also, don't be at all surprised if the front office like some QBs that are mostly unknown right now. I could see the Rams taking a flyer on a QB in late rounds.
