Great points, hope you're wrong about Lemon's impact on the Eagles. If Brown is traded hard to believe he won't have a moderate to full impact with their passing game. Here is to hoping the Simpson pick really pays off and I do get the logic behind the pick since moving up for a top QB would cost tons of draft capitol any other year, due to Rams being perennial top team.
But another example of a rookie impacting a team for a Super Bowl run is Cooper Dejean. Cooper DeJean absolutely affected the Eagles’ defense in their Super Bowl year, and his impact was both seen during the season and in the Super Bowl itself.
He became a regular starter around midseason after the eagles struggled in pass defense. The Eagles finished the regular season with the No. 1 overall defense and No. 1 pass defense in the NFL. Dejean didn’t allow a receiving touchdown during the regular season and graded extremely well in coverage.
DeJean recorded a 38‑yard pick‑six off Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter that broke the game open, if you remember watching.
By the way, many Rams fans were pounding the table for Dejean if you recall. We moved up in the draft to pick 39 and drafted Fiske. Many assumed it was for Dejean who was highly touted and projected by some to go top 15. The eagles then traded up to pick 40 after we selected Fiske. The Rest is history.
There’s even behind-the-scenes Eagles footage showing Howie Roseman celebrating when the Rams picked Fiske instead of DeJean, because that cleared the way for Philadelphia to grab him.
Philly picked Jalen Carter when other teams passed on him due to character concerns. Carter ended our season after blowing up Limmer, if you remember.
And now how ironic, we pass on Makai Lemon who was the odds-on favorite Rams pick. The Eagles moved up to draft him after we passed on him. So let's see if history repeats itself again.
LOL, of course they didnt. Thats inarguable. Thats also fully known and not cared about by the folks who like the Simpson pick. Not what I said. An
I think the Qb room is weaker behind Stafford. Tell me I’m wrong.
As far as making a 1st round pick that could help this years team, they didn’t. That is what we are talking about and you know it. Argue that the rams made the team better this year with the 13th pick.

What does the QB room have to do with the Simpson pick? If Garoppolo didnt retire we were STILL taking Simpson and were moving on from Stetson.

There's no doubt we sacrificed some '26 and maybe some '27 in exchange for 28-38. Dont see a problem with that. Rams came into that draft as the best team going into 2026 with the Kansas City defensive back field additions.Depends on whether Lemon for example raised Rams' 2026 SuperBowl by some percent, call it n%.
Versus Simpson raising the Rams's odds in 27/28/29/30 by p% each versus the other possibilities (considering the draft costs).
If you're really all about 2026 to the detriment of all future years I have to disagree with you on that.

One thing that Dejean and Emmanwori have in common is that neither was a first round pick. We drafted more players this year than just Ty Simpson in the first round and we also used our other first round pick on an immediate impact DB. Studies show you can, in fact, have your cake and eat it too. Here is to hoping the Simpson pick really pays off and I do get the logic behind the pick since moving up for a top QB would cost tons of draft capitol any other year, due to Rams being perennial top team.

Loved the KC DB pickups.Got proven championship experienced players. Hopefully they stay healthy and Shula knows how to use them. We need to increase our aggressive blitz packages and man press numbers if we are to get the most out of these signings, in my book. One thing that Dejean and Emmanwori have in common is that neither was a first round pick. I think that may be overlooked by a lot of us. Me included. The reason you don’t trade that 13 for a
Veteran is salary cap. You literally have to win with proven vets and young guys. I think we all understand that.
No not backpedaling at all. My first take is what I believe (think the pick wasn't great and Simpson won't amount to much) but then again that doesn't matter because the Rams took who they took. I've just moved on because discussing that leads to nothing at all. Simpson is a Ram and I've said multiple times, hope he proves me wrong and will be rooting for the kid. Of course we have to trust McVay, we kinda have no choice but he isn't perfect either so this will be interesting to watch develop over some time. I'm choosing to focus my energy on rooting the Rams on.el chapo....
i have to admit, i was rowing the same boat.. my initial thought was WTF???
but after my initial meltdown...
im all in...
and not because im a rose colored glasses wearing ram fan ( although i am)...
something tells me this is over our heads and was the best pick the rams could have made....
you keep backpeddaling on your first take, but you and i were lockstep in that zone...
it's not that i know anything about the process... but i think we may have struck gold and everyone else in the NFL missed it...
uhhhh.. i think mcsnead have once again ripped the league a new one on this....
somehow they seem to do this year after year when it comes to the draft.... ansd sean knows QB...
we're gonna have to trust him on this....
go rams
