The safety’s are a strong group when you consider their discipline, knowledge of the system, turnover impact and especially their tackling which has been top of the league.

Corners are a weak point but I have seen much worse. I would bet they are considering a late season trade if we are healthy and poised for a Super Bowl run. We’ve seen it before with Miller and the savy move to get Weddle.

Make be waiting on Spoons recovery situation and thinking they can coach up Forbes. Durant has looked improved from my eye.
Question is whether a good corner is on the market by that deadline. If so then yeah I agree it is likely. Rams are not shy to go for it, nor should they be with this roster.

I think by now they're saying to themselves ok we see why Forbes was cast off by the Commodes. And Durant's improvement is not enough for a year four corner in this league. I do believe I am done hoping he will find it. What you can expect from him is more faceguarding on the perimeter with the occasional play made because he does have some cover skill. But I just don't think there's enough dog in him.

Puka's on pace for 178 catches and 2137 yards over 17 games. Everyone knows he's Stafford's favorite target. Yet, they can't shut him down. If they commit too much to stop him Davante Adams will go off on them. Its pick your poison.
If the Horns have the division and the NFC #1 seed locked up by Week 17, Puka may not play in Week 18.

If #1 is wrapped up, I would be surprised to see Puka play. Maybe McVay gives him a chance if he is close to historic numbers like he did his rookie year. Puka may set a new record with only 16 starts and not need week 18.

There seems to be a vast gulf in the development of our corners vs the development of our safeties. Our safeties are playing exceptionally well. Curl just had his best game in horns. Lake has been on a roll. McCullough is developing nicely. But those corners still can't even get their fuckin heads around on perimeter throws or play with any sort of anticipation underneath.

I find it interesting that we have a safety specific coach in Beake. Who is making his money. I suppose that means Pleasant is coaching the corners. Also I wonder if Pleasant told McVay not to worry about corner this offseason, because there didn't seem to be nearly enough concern with the position in their approach. And now that we're in full season mode it sure feels like it's a problem. Maybe he told them it was a need and was ignored for greater issues. But if that was the case it was a tactical error on the roster build because the playoffs would have been a lot easier with at least one good cover man back there.

Anyway we obviously have a hell of a team. But if we don't get some development with these corners it feels like we'll hit a team in the playoffs that can nullify our rush and that will be that.
Need some juice at CB1 and ILB2 (Dolac?).
