Do you expect to win the last two games?
If we do not and there is any chance Marriota falls to us do you take him?
Eli is getting up there and slowing a bit (never was Speedy Gonzales).
The St Louis game should be a contest but I don't see us beating the Eagles if that there is any Eagles Playoff hope,
They will be fighting like crazed Dogs.
As we have seen over and over again you need a franchise QB to get to the SB and win it.
I see Eli having about 3 yrs left in him if he continues his mediocre play and perhaps worse.
This is the closest we have been to top pick for ages. I'm not sure beating two bum teams was a good idea.
Its fun to watch but it has a drag on the draft
-----------
No.
---------
They'll win both. Not switching QB's either way.
---------
Right now we have the 7th pick, the worst we can get (realistically) is the 13th Pick, but we would have to win both games and teams would have to lose in front of us.
.The best pick we can get is the 5th, and only if we lose out and the Jets and the Redskins win out.
Personally, I don't think tanking to my most hated division rival to hypothetically gain 3 draft spots is worth it.
---------
I don't think there is any way they win both. The Giants looked pretty pedestrian against Washington and if RGIII does't get unlucky at the end of the 1st half...it would have been a whole different game. So no, this is still a pretty poor to fair football team. And no, no chance they move up to take Mariotta.
--------
I don't the see the Giants beating the Rams and Eagles. They'll either split the games or lose both.
And I can't see Mariota falling to the Giants. One of the teams ahead of the Giants will grab him, or somebody will trade up and leap frog the Giants to get him. But if the Giants ink Eli to a new deal, which is highly likely, and ride with Nassib as the back-up next year I don't have an issue with that. But the search for the next franchise QB will have to begin sooner rather than later.
---------
How about trade Eli to the top picker and throw in our #1 for Mariotta?
Honeslty I don't think Tom and Eli will ever sniff another SB so this move makes long term sense
Then you have Mariotta and Nassib to fight it out and all you have lost is a #1 pick (and unloaded Eli's huge salary)
---------
I stopped 'Expecting' to win a game a long time ago. Now I simply "Hope" that we win.
It results in far less angst if you lose.
Just ask all those Pats fans who expected to win SB42.
And, I do hope we win the last two. I don't care about position in the draft until the season is history.
---------
I think we lose both. We are capable of beating both but the Rams are home and haven't allowed a TD in their last 3 games I believe. Philly still would need the win in their last game for a shot at the playoffs. Right now were picking 7th if we win it would go up to 9th or 12th depending if we win 1 or 2 games. With other scenarios we could pick higher.
----------
I have no expectations of anything. You just don't know which Giant team is going to show up against better teams.

Bring back Spags as the new DC: Yes or No
Looks like we had 100% on the fire Perry Fewell thread. So now that he is gone let's find his replacement. Spags is the easy choice but is he the right choice? I vote YES!!
---------
is how many games our D was being mauled in a first half and Spags making adjustments at half time to completely shut em down. Or was I dreaming?
---------
he may not be Belichick but he's an upgrade at DC.
--------
It helps when you have an excellent MIKE and a very good OLB along with an outstanding front four.
We won both Super Bowls the same way. The Front 4 was humming each time. Spags had better linebackers and Fewell had better DB's.
---------
Ideally, I would love Rex Ryan as our DC when he gets fired, however, that's not happening.
I would love to see his defense implemented. I actually might start to have faith in our defense again.
----------
I still remember him smacking the shit out of Brady in the super bowl.
At one point we were sending everyone from different spots. This would go on throughout the game..
DL pressure
Ross from the slot
LB A gap
and Gibril the Thrill Wilson creeping in and blitzing.
It was a fun defense to watch. He basically put Webster on the map. Webster was an average CB, who Tim Lewis would berate. Once Lewis left, and the scheme changed Webster was a damn good CB for us.

Giants at Rams 2014: First look at Sunday's match-up

A quick look at some of the keys to the game.
The New York Giants look for a third straight victory Sunday when they face the St. Louis Rams. Let's take a look at how the teams match up.
When The Giants Have The Ball
Rams Defense: Overall -- 339.9 yards per game (11th); Rushing -- 107.5 yards per game (12th); Passing -- 232.4 yards per game (10th); Points Per Game -- 21.2
Giants Offense: Overall -- 346.9 yards per game (14th); Rushing -- 99.9 yards per game (21st); Passing -- 246.9 yards per game (13th)' Points Per Game -- 22.6
The speeding bullet known as Odell Beckham has been unstoppable in recent weeks, smashing all sorts of franchise and NFL records for rookie wide receivers. How far have the Giants really come on offense, however? Facing a quality young St. Louis defense will help answer that question.
The Rams have allowed only 12 points in the last three weeks. They shut out the Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins, 52-0 and 24-0, respectively, then lost to the Arizona Cardinals, 12-6.
"We have our work cut out for us and we're going to have to do an exceptional job with our pass protection," said head coach Tom Coughlin, pointing out that the Rams "blitz more than any team in the NFL."
Defensive end Robert Quinn (10.5 sacks) and rookie defensive tackleAaron Donald (8 sacks) lead a talented young group. Defensive endChris Long is back after missing much of the season with an injury. Linebackers Alec Ogletree (93) and James Laurinaitis (91) lead St. Louis in tackles.
For the Giants, the story is simple. Get the ball to Beckham and see what he can do next. To do that, they have to be able to handle the St. Louis blitz packages, an area that has been a struggle for the Giants offensive line this season.
When The Rams Have The Ball
Rams Offense: Overall -- 314.5 yards per game (26th); Rushing -- 106.2 (20th); Passing -- 208.3 (26th); Points Per Game -- 20.8
Giants Defense: Overall -- 371.4 yards per game (25th); Rushing -- 131.5 (29th); Passing -- 236.2 (13th); Points -- 24.2
The Giants have 22 sacks in the past three weeks, led by a resurgent Jason Pierre-Paul, who has six sacks during that span. The Rams have surrendered 41 sacks on the season. Can the Giants continue to apply the heat, this week on veteran St. Louis quarterback Shaun Hill?
"I think we have some people that are playing very well. JPP [Jason Pierre-Paul] is playing very well. Technically, early on, when he was doing some things that we could correct and help with and he has really adapted his game again to the way and manner in which we would like him to rush," Coughlin said. "We are getting contributions from a lot of people right now, Devon Kennard, and we are getting some help from Damontré [Moore]. We got help from [Johnathan] Hankins yesterday. We have some people that are contributing to that pressure and it definitely has helped in the coverage as well."
Pierre-Paul needs a half-sack for the second double-digit sack season of his career.
The Giants will hope the younger plays like Kennard, Damontre Moore,Kerry Wynn and Jay Bromley continue to show that they can be part of the defensive rotation going forward.
Rookie running back Tre Mason (155 carries, 661 yards, 4.3 yards per carry) leads the Rams rushing attack. Tight end Jared Cook (44 receptions) is their top receiver.
Special Teams
For the Giants this week, it's watch the fake on punt returns. St. Louis punter Johnny Hekker is 2-for-2 this season completing passes on fake punts. The Rams are dangerous in the return game. Tavon Austinaverages 10.3 yards on punt returns and Benny Cunningham gets 28.6 yards per attempt on kickoff returns.
---------
Is that not what the Eaglet did to Eli - blitz plue speed rushers.
I hope Eli just survives the last two games especially since the Eagles no how to attack TC’s offense. (Note what I did there).
----------
Think Gregg Williams
will put out a hush hush bounty on Eli and Odell? Seriously, this match up worries the hell out of me. I hate it on every level. Williams blitzes more than anyone and this is not a strength of this currently assembled Oline. Eli almost always tends to do something mind-numbingly ridiculous when pressured. Just get out healthy. Please.
---------
What? You dont trust our O-line?
