Kevin Demoff said it before he hired a certain head coach with no NFL experience.

Wade had Head Coaching experience & that was the only way he was going to hire him.
Just know where I was when heard his (Demoff)interview.
5 fwy south bound past the 710.

It was the 2nd interview & he already had Wade Phillips singed & delivered when The Rams announced Sean Mcvay as Head Coach. Plus at that time Demoff wasn’t going to let that combination out of the building.

They had other interviews lined up & didn’t even wait for Shanahan.Wes & Mcvay coached together in Washington at the time. Point being Mcvay was that offensive guy The Rams liked, but when he came back with Wade Phillips & his Head Coaching(coaching) experience it was as good as it could get.
Wade Phillips was great, but there is a time to move on.

Raheem Morris? Not sure where Sean Mcvay stands? His mindset has to be he needs a DC even if Morris doesn’t get the job ?
There has to be some kind of an agreement on who(coaches) are available?
However that all is? The wealth of knowledge he got from those 2 Mentors is a lot.It will be interesting if he becomes that HC that has that defensive experience to find that happy medium & call the game with both his OC & DC.
Bobby Wagner is the perfect (green dot) MLB to help with the play calls a long with Ramsey ?

Wade Phillips - good enough answer for a rookie coach.

That rookie head coach (McVay) PICKED his experienced Defensive Coordinator (Phillips).

The Jets Ownership / Front Office PICKED the experienced Defensive Coordinator FOR their new Coach.

Similarly, reports are saying Carolina' Ownership is looking to hire a Defensive Coordinator FOR its new Coach.

It's NOT a young/old thing. It's a who makes the decision thing. See a big difference?

The Rams liked him,but he needed to comeback with Wade Phillips.
Cool article but, I don’t see anything about that quoted. The one line says McVay was quick to go after Phillips seemingly after he had been told he was hired.

In any account it was a great day to be a Rams fan!

Yeah - don’t see that happening. Thomas Brown will run game coordinator & RB coach.

Sean Mcvay needs him to keep Cam Akers straight & find a RB package group.

There was someone in this board that talked crap about Malcom Brown & his signing to The Rams practice squad after being cut by Miami.

I swear that still IRKS ME! Anybody who has been a Rams Fan since St.Louis & beyond ott2
respect What Malcom Brown has done with The Rams.

To say you & I or any other posters here has as good of a chance of playing for The Rams.
How dare U??

Between Malcom Brown & or Thomas Brown changed The culture of The Rams RB room is pretty unbelievable.

Malcom Brown meant a lot to Cam Akers. Then getting Thomas Brown back was HUGE!! I say The Rams have a lot of Brown Bro’s.
—I call them The New Old Brown Bro’s!!

—Ernest Brown deserves some credit for getting his first SACK as a RAM? If nothing else making his presence felt & a start for a name for himself. He has been counted out & Rams Fans(media) don’t know what they got(depth). Eric Henderson?
Does he go or stay with Raheem Morris? Become a DC?
For some reason I hadn’t even thought about the effect Brown would’ve had on Akers. Thanks for mentioning it. Now I like that signing even more.

What effect would that be? Seems to me the motivating factor in Akers return to prominence was the removal of Darryl Henderson from the team. Not sure what influence Brown would have had

While that is true, it's possible Brown was put back there (11-4) to see what the problem was and after a few weeks Henderson was released (11-22). Perhaps Samples didn't want to put it on Hendo? Kyren Williams got more carries than Akers the game after Hendo was released. And then Akers carried the load over the final 6 (104 for 512; 4.9). Just wondering. Samples has moved on to Arizona St. as WR coach and passing game coordinator. That was announced a couple days after Akers ran 17 times for 60 and scored 2 TDs against Seattle.

Its all reading thru tea leaves at this point, but I would think that if Malcolm Brown had some sort of influence, then its strange it didnt take effect until the end of the season. He was on the team well prior to Akers Vacation/Suspension/Walkabout
In any event, if he helped, that's great. Could always use guys like that

My bad.....I should've read back a couple of pages......thought the Brown was Thomas Brown. I will slowly back into the cornfield.

Thomas Brown I totally agree, definitely makes impact
I'd love to see him promoted to OC. That would lend itself to the idea of McVay giving up some control of the O much more than the hiring an OC like Reich IMO

Jourdan Rodrigue just reported some coaches that McVay let go, including Carberry, DeCamillis and Cooley; with Thad Bodardus' contract not being renewed.

@FieldYates

Sean McVay returned to the Rams and staff changes were expected and some have: OL coach Kevin Carberry, Special Teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis, DB Coach Jonathan Cooley, Assistant DL Skyler Jones and Defensive Assistant Lance Schulters will not be returning, per source.

Go get Bill Callahan!

I tell you what, I'd love to see McVay dip in to the college ranks and give Brian Mason a shot at the ST coaching gig.
Notre Dame's ST was insane this year
