I need to know, what the hell is a Mexicana pizza? I feel ashamed asking because I'm Mexican.
Thin layer of salsa as the pizza sauce…Taco meat seasoned, onions, and cheese… baked like a normal pizza… then topped with shredded lettuce and diced tomato at serving. Salsa for topping as well.

Thats how we do it, anyway.

Pineapple gives me migraines, so I avoid it like the plague. So I am on the cool side by default. I am a Pep/Jalepeno guy.

There is a place close to my house, they sell a pizza called Porko. It has fennel and three pepper sausage, bacon, tomato sauce, parmesan, fresh mozzarella, onions, basil, and fresh tomatoes. That's my perfect pizza.
Being Italian on both sides, that sounds extraordinary although I prefer my pizza plain with just cheese, should be go on it's own, but this is something I would be fine with enjoying and to the shocking to @Merlin the one time I prefer a cold brew over a fine wine.

Yes beer & pizza are fantastic together. Just load up on some ice cold Morettis and you're still authentic.

Btw Sicily was my only overseas post, and of course one of my favorite places to live. My kids still go on about it, was great for the family. And the pizza there just damn. I mean the way that thin crust comes out of those brick ovens it's the only place where I would sometimes order my pizza with just cheese. Well margherita. :hug:

Still say the best pizza I ever tasted, though, was in Naples. It had that thick/spicy Italian pepperoni plus tons of thin sliced onions. It was thin, greasy, and I am contemplating a trip there for my wife and I in part so I can experience that again.

I met my wife in a restaurant. She was the manager and head pizza chef at an Italian restaurant with wood fired pizza oven.

She designed pizzas all the time. Weird ones you’d never think of, that taste amazing.

My favorite… tomato sauce, mozzarella, asiago, red onion, prosciutto. The prosciutto cooked on top of the cheese. Wood fired. Luscious…
