Man did I want to punch Sean Peyton in his face.... I mean I get that he hates Greg Williams... but he acted and coached like a complete ass.

I totally agree. The Saints are actually one of the few teams in the NFL I root for (other than when their games impact the Rams playoff chances, and that ends this time of year). But after watching this guy's antics today, this won't be the case moving forward.

Although I've always respected Brees and enjoyed watching him play. He was true to form today. I just hope Goff can reach 80% of what Brees has become.

Saints humiliate Rams 49-21, running up the score late
Posted by Darin Gantt on November 27, 2016

Jared Goff did some good things, and at least showed he was finally ready to be better at quarterback for the Rams than Case Keenum.

But he was going against a guy who has been doing it at a high level, for much longer.

Drew Brees was surgical while Goff was merely sharp, leading the Saints to a dominant 49-21 win over the Rams.

Brees threw for 310 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another, and he wasn’t even the only one throwing touchdowns.

They also rubbed it in when they had a chance against former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. With the Saints up 21 points early in the fourth quarter, wide receiver Willie Snead threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to running back Tim Hightower, the kind of trick play you don’t often see with that kind of margin.

The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Saints, but kept them somewhat alive in the NFC South at 5-6.

The Rams fell to 4-7, closing in on being out of the playoff hunt. Which I guess was what they were waiting for to play Goff to begin with. Goff was decidedly OK, throwing for 214 yards and three touchdowns, with an interception.

Their problems compounded throughout the day after a promising start, as replacement left tackle Rodger Saffold left with a hand injury and didn’t return to the game. Regular starter Greg Robinson was a healthy scratch, so without the former No. 2 overall pick, the Rams were protecting their No. 1 overall pick with second-year tackle Andrew Donnal.

Yes-Goff flashed today and Donald is a stud. But other than that, Quinn has been invisible for most of the season, Austin is an overpaid gadget player and Gurley has looked average. We dont know if the other pieces will be resigned or will decide to leave ala Jenkins. Coach and GM is a HUGE question mark. The painful reality is we thought this team was ascending, however longtime Rams fans are thinking we may be right where we have been for the last 14...in the basement of the NFL for a prolonged period.

I personally feel there are fewer holes than it appears.

If Goff continues as today; the toughest position to fill is set.

Donald, Gurley, Quinn, Austin... etc. There are a lot of pieces in place.

Sorry buddy but Quinn is a shell of himself. One play a game isn't worth 15 million . He constantly runs past the QB and out of the play .

Whoa. I thought I only noticed that. He does the semi truck wide turn when he has already passed the QB.

A DE who can pressure the QB is always in high demand, particularly at his age.

I'm not saying he's at his best... but he was "iffy" going into this year following the injury last year. This would imply another offseason to heal up is in order.

Im not upset in the least. Fisher deserves every bit of negativity thrown his way. Im just concerned with how poor the defense has played in the last 66 minutes.

And all these meltdowns will give us a better midround draft pick ;)

How did you survey all of them?

I think we've both seen a enough football to know teams can change quickly in a single off season, particularly when the QB is in place.

Yes, I realize we do not have a first round pick... but a team is built in many ways.

Eh, Quinn's coming back from back surgery less than a year ago and I believe has sacks in back to back games.
Austin has been criminally under utilized in the offense this year. Look at how he was used last year; I think there's a direct correlation to Gurley's struggles and the complete absence of Tavon running jet sweeps and reverses.
I agree the future could be grim if Tru goes al'a Jenkins, and we lose McDonald, but there are pieces.
It'd be damn nice to have an extra couple picks next year though.

Limited draft resources? Where do people come up with this crap? The Rams dont have a 1st rd pick, but they have plenty of others. The Rams gave up a fraction for Goff of what wash gave up for RGme. People need to stop listening to the uninformed media and look at the facts.

Sorry, I just cant stand this misinformation being thrown around as if it has any truth to it.
Not having a first round pick is limited draft resources.

Point is when we think we know what the Rams strengths are, then suddenly they underwhelm and progress is stunted. Furthermore, every season has its unique set of circumstances; FA, draft, coaches, injuries and this team continues to be sub .500. I hope one of these seasons it changes but until then, the Rams are what there record says they are and that frustrates the heck out of me.

Same thing every play . You never see him make a play in the running game .

It was tough watching Williams and Fisher getting into it on the sidelines. I wonder if Fisher will make any changes to play calling duties next week, or just mail it in and book a plane to Florida for the first week of January.

Exactly. The Rams are a boat that always seem to spring a leak somewhere.

I remember watching this team trounce the Raiders two years ago in St. Louis. 52-0. It looked like the Raiders had a loooonng way to go to being respectable. Our rebuild was already in full swing. Since then the Raiders have passed us and the team we supposedly bent over in the draft, the Redskins, are a better team than us as well. Depressing man. Depressing.

Never would of thought our D would of been trounced the way it was today. I mean the #6 D...yikes. Brees is great and I love that offense but come on. We've shut down every team that has talent for the most part.
If Fisher is still here next year I think we will all be heavy drinkers.

Good news is I believe our QB has a very bright future.

Linehan had an 8 win season. Spags had a 7 win season.
The best Fisher has mustered is a 7 win season and will be lucky to win 5 this year.
Unbelievable
