No, they don't.
The team ranks 21st in ppg against.. the defense is top ten...

From Jourdan today in the Athletic:

Overall, their defense specifically is allowing 17.8 points per game (this subtracts offensive/special teams turnovers that lead to points), which is sixth-best in the NFL.

So, again.. the defense is doing its job well.
This speaks for itself. I do not like how we play soft in the pass defense but considering how much the defense is on the field you could crunch their rating to be much higher.

The whiner game score did not accurately indicate how well the defense played that game. The offense plainly just gave the whiner offense way too many opportunities.

The offense is as messy as I can remember. Our O-line is a complete wreck. And this is 100% on McVay. As it should be.

I am good coming off a SB championship season and having our great Head Coach eat some humble pie to prevent this shit happening in the future. I never give up in any season and certainly will not with this one. There are games to always win.

My money is next year things get fixed and we are a serious competitor.

GO RAMS!!!

Just when I thought things couldn’t get any worse yesterday the broadcasters put that pic of McVay on the screen with all that 49ers gear on. No wonder we never beat them.

Well they made him believe now with an astonishing 60 plus yard drive in 36 secs and no timeouts.

ESPN showed last night that teams in similar situations had a record of 5 wins & 495 losses when given the ball in that position with no timeouts. Stunning stats.
Again the media is tour lollipop of course they going to throw out that line and stat it just makes the tin mans narritive that much better in a game he through cor his 100000 yd wt away to remember it blah blah blah.

They are highlights yes the defense could jave put it away agreed however not a huge assumption but im thinking you saw the entire game? Hoe many vod damn times did we have a chance to put them away? Then the defens does just that and forget a scoring drive but just one play all you need and you cant even kill the clock???? Comeone bro itsthe enrire picture not just a piece.

I for one have learned not to believe in coincidence.

Losing eight regular season games in a row to anyone, especially with this team, makes you wonder if something floats around subconsciously unless a ring is on the immediate line.

Granddaddies name is on the ring of honor. Don't know if anything like that has happened before.

Rams rank 21st in ppg game on defense.

The defense is good enough if our offense was anywhere near what it was in the past

but the defense gets no pass rush and creates no turnovers - its average.
per Jourdan they‘re 6th best in points the defense allows taking out offense and st surrendering pints. Looks like we’re also averiging 1.25 ppt in the 4th quarter. There’s no excusing that.

I was only looking at the ppg rankings.. figured they took out other scores but they dont i guess....

the defense is also 28th in the league in take aways and 31st in qb pressures.

As I said the defense is good enough to win if the offense wasn't so horrible - but its not without flaws.

Do you people realize that the offense cannot gain any yards at all? They cannot run the ball, they cannot throw the ball, nor can they get a first down. If the defense was as bad as the offense, the score yesterday would have been 63-0. I am just as disgusted by the soft cover defense as the rest of you, but they are not the problem. The offense is non-existent, and that is the problem. Blame it on the line, on the running backs, on McVay... it doesn't really matter. What does matter is that they are totally inept on offense and McVAy needs to fix it.

I told my wife that after I saw that picture that McVay must have a subconscious mental block when it comes to playing the 49ers since he grew up a 49er fan

Actually posted a few years back a satirical conspiracy theory that he was throwing these games as a thank you to gramps for getting him into NFL coaching.

I now hope it was just a joke.

Stafford has had the shit beat out of home all year, he's got little time to set his feet and deliver a nice pass. While he's missed throws, let's not act like he's sitting back there in a clean pocket and just missing. He's usually off balance and trying to make something out if nothing. He had a few damn nice throws yesterday including the TD to Kupp.

Not to mention we have ZERO run game so the D can just T off on Stafford and blitz blitz blitz.

This is 60% on the OL, 20% on the lack of running game and 20% lack of weapons.

I'm just glad the Panthers rejected their offer of two first rounders for Burns. The window is now shut for the Rams. They will need to think about rebuilding the next few years. They don't have the picks to build a better offensive line. And it usually takes a couple years anyway.

Most the core players will be 30 or older next season. A number of others will be free agents. They really need to think about rebuilding a couple years and maybe make one more run before Stafford retires.

I know a 3-5 is capable of going on a run. But this 3-5 team is not. They will probably win a few more games but every team on the schedule is capable of beating them. I think we finish 6-11.

100% on Evans

Well - there’s 9 more games this season. It can either mean we go on a 9 game winning streak or we continue on the current trajectory of going 6-11. I’m frustrated as fuck right now but also know that there’s time to right the ship. 11-6 ain’t impossible.

NO doubt. It's absolutely unbelievable. Stafford you KNOW has some physical ailments going on right now which why wouldn't he? He's been sacked as much so far as ALL last season. I mean god damn people, get of Stafford's jock. He didn't forget how to be the great QB he is.

Well maybe he has forgotten since he has been hit so many times this year

They are giving up a near league low in points per game, that is the most important barometer.
The are scoring at a near league worst, even worse than Lovie Smith's Houston Texans team!
1 first down in the 4th quarter, a single first down in 3 series, and the Rams win the game
