UPDATE: Uniform change for 2026 Announced

I get that the Rams want to appeal to a new generation. I get they want the uniforms to pop on TV. I get that they want to solidify their brand. I really do.

But it's so strange that the Rams will not do a true throwback uniform. For some reason they just can't go there. Not even once. The alternates, even though a homage, have modern elements with the colors and the horn. It's so peculiar.

IMO, it all depends on your family dynamic. One of my Uncle's was only 5 years older (more like a brother) and it was because of him I started so early and remember things as early as 4 years old, which was 1970. Love the Fearsome whites as they remind me of that game against the New York Football Giants, which took place in Yankee Stadium on December 20th 1970.

Everyone was at my grandparents house and they were watching the game rooting for the Giants because if they won, they would have won their division over Dallas. All my relatives rooting for the Giants and I walked into the Parlor (they called the formal living room the parlor back then) and made a comment about the Ram helmets looking cool and that team was going to win and I got chastised.

Rams crushed the Giants 31-3 and over the years, I was reminded that everyone knew what team I would root for.

The Rams crushed the Giants (do you remember what Rams' player caught two touchdpwn passes?).
Unfortunately, the 49ers then destroyed the Raiders; and went-on to play in the NFC Championship.

That game was Not on TV in NYC because of the ridiculous black-out rules in place at the time (I think you were up-state at that time. Is that correct? If so, I wish I was with your family that day). I was sitting alone in my kitchen, listening to the game on a small portable radio that looked something like this ...

Pat Studstill caught 2 TDs from Gabe. Studstill, at that stage of his career, was the punter and a backup wideout but had made the Pro Bowl as a receiver with the Lions earlier in the decade.
And Oakland had already clinched so mailed it in against Frisco.

Regarding Studstill, since I was still very young, I had no reference to him as anything other than a punter.

His years with Detroit as a Pro Bowl end were also before my time following the NFL but I like to look at the background of RAMS from that era and profootballreference.com is a rich resource of info.
Notice that he has no facemask in the photo. His wiki page says he was one of the last NFL players to sport that look.
And it says he was a technical advisor on the original The Longest Yard motion picture.
And quite a lot of acting credits in popular TV shows.

The whites are COLD! I just wish they numbers and letters didn't have the black stitching, but overall they are still fire.

I'm going to get the updated primary away jersey first, I see they finally dropped the Stafford stitched version. And then I'll get a white Puka or Garrett. I need to see if Puka gets extended first.

I am almost positive it is just darker blue.

Ok, I really like the yellow. Glad it wasnt a faded yellow like it looked like in the leaked pic. Also really like the white and blue. Gotta say they did a good job with this reveal unlike the last "updated" jersey reveal.

Agree but the sources to do research were limited back then.

It was only long after they retired, did I know things like ... earlier in their careers ... Studstill was a WR ... Lamar Lundy was a TE ... Marlin McKeever was also a TE

It was on TV in Upstate, NY, always thought we got the breaks when it came to the black out rules. Also, Punter, Patrick Lewis Studstill Jr. was called upon in that game because of injury and caught two TD Passes from the Roman Empire to crush the hopes and dreams of the NY faithful that day.
