Separately… because trying to have rational conversations with the irrational is boring…

Watching Morris adapt and evolve has been interesting.

So many games on the back end.. sim pressures galore (which is one reason Young & Hoecht end up in coverage so much, imo)…

Multiple guys I read/listen to say it’s a unit that is greater than the sum of its parts.

That’s one way to get a HC job.

You are completely ignoring my last few posts.
Well, if you think I am the one ignoring you then we have differing definitions of the word "ignore".

My definition would include me giving you all the data you asked for and then you changing the parameters when the answer didn't suit you. When you finally settled on an iteration you wanted you never commented on it. The 3rd and 10+ outside the red zone.

You said you wanted that data, I would have never looked for that on my own. You wanted it you got it. And you say you cared about it and then you wouldn't respond to that. So, if you think I am ignoring you ... well, there is nothing more I can do because I kind of felt that was what you have been doing all along.

I hope you were being sincere in this conversation that you will willing to do a little listening.

I cannot do anything more for you ...

And that is too bad. I posted Tweets in week 1 of interesting things. Spoon being able to play some man to the boundary side has helped. Turner's impact cannot be underestimated.

Jones' growth is noticeable.

I only complained a little during 2021 until we got Von Miller and I complained a lot in 2022 especially about the 2.3 seconds thing until the season was basically over when we were 3 and 6
I do love you attaching yourself and your argument to one number and ignoring every thing else. In spite of the statistics you're going to go to the mat for this 2.3 seconds and just say nothing else matters. No point in going on.

I dunno if teams will want him after that performance. Detroit is a good offense. In today's NFL, you are going to give up some points against offenses like that. And he adjusted admirably in the 2nd half. Plus, let's also keep in mind this defence is not exactly the greatest roster. But man, absolutely abused all 1st half in a must-have game. I dunno. Hard to call this performance good, and recency bias is a thing.

Lions have a 1st round pick at RB, WR, QB, 3 on the OL and a 2nd round TE. Rams have a 1st rounder on D and not much else. Lets just lay out some facts here :)
I gotta just disengage from the nonsense.

Just people too far gone to have an objective conversation.

He did make adjustments he took Hoecht off of coverage against a top 5 WR in the league
And from that looked creeped him in on the next play.. blowing up a run and setting up a big negative down and distance play.

We gave up 3 points in the last 37 minutes of the game. Yes we gave up 21 in the first 22 minutes. We scored 9 points on the night in 4 trips to the red zone? Was it 4? Plenty of blame to go around but we all know the haters will be out in force.

Whatever dude.

Last year a lot of people were complaining about the rush not being able to pressure the QB and I kept saying it's because the passer is getting the ball out in 2.3 seconds. No way they can get there.

And the reason why was due to the soft zones that we played especially in the Tampa 4th qtr., Arizona and NO games.

And I have also stated that having seen Morris with more schemes this year means that something was wrong last year. I say it was the Assistant Coaches. Rams say it was due to the offense being so poor. However, the Rams used a lot of soft zones before the offense was poor. So I have come to the conclusion that Morris had to cover for poor assistant coaches. So I am for Morris now.

But I am again stressing that one stat tells the entire story of the Rams defense last year.

and they got their last first down with a 2nd year safety in coverage on Amon- Ra

If you are calling me a hater - naw - I don't blame the defense for this game.

First half was rough and I felt we should have blitzed more because we know Goff is fairly poor at responding to blitzes especially up the middle. But in the second half, Morris made some adjustments and the defense played their hearts out.

This was more on the offense not being able to score in the red zone. We get one TD and we have a real good shot of winning.

I hate the soft zone coverage no matter what the reason is for it. All it does is allow the opposing offense to march methodically down the field; control the clock and score touchdowns.

Has anyone ever asked him about Hoecht in coverage? Has Jourdan on the Athletic ever written about it? It just seems so weird. Not that it happens necessarily, but the staggering frequency of it. He far and away was leading the league in drop backs for his position group last time I looked. Players that are legitimately very good in coverage on other teams drop back way, way less.
