I dont smoke that stuff but i am very concerned.. are you not at all? Send some optimism my way.
Not really, concerned, it's a problem that's
never going away for Stafford. I have have 3 bulging disc in my neck and it's you either fuse the disc or you live with it. Yes there are treatments for the issue but they only alleviate it temporarily. It's something he's going to deal with for the remainder of his career/life. Even if he does surgery, it doesn't fix the problem which is why a lot of people elect not to have back fusion surgeries.
My biggest issue is, the Rams have probably known about this issue for sometime, i doubt very much that "golf" actually caused the issue as it usually takes some force to herniate or bulge a disc. Hence I got my 3 bulging disc from being put in a Can Opener in MMA. It took a lot of force and my upper back / neck area was frozen for about a month. Once it cleared up I was ready to go and it's still something I constantly have to keep loose.
The Rams have
probably known about this issue when it happened, and he probably reaggravated it playing golf, tennis, etc. It usually takes 3-4 weeks to clear up with rest and rehab. He'll probably be ready to come back right around week 1, basing the timetable on when we heard about the issue.
If he stays sidelined Stafford is gonna be rusty not getting any time w/ his WR's. It might be better to hold him out week 1 and have him practicing week 2.
Obviously this is all just my opinion, and injuries vary but in my experience and experiences with my teammates in Jujitsu, it's not super serious and just something he's gonna have to work through.
