As much as I hate the Pats I think killing their cap space and trying to cripple them goes a bit too far. Belichick is better than his peers, and IMO is the heart and soul of what makes them special. Making him take a year long hiatus would be very steep in cost and they would look very different in 2020 as a result without his presence. And a couple years of abbreviated drafts (one of which would be a much higher pick due to no Belichick previous season) on top of that would be enough I think.

I’d rather aim high than aim at barely tolerable and have it negotiated down further.

No, they've had decades of success, with repeated cheatings and the occasional slap on the wrist. I want picks from more than two years, I want them ineligible for comp picks for a while, I want enough cap space taken from them, that they lose a couple of key depth players.

I completely agree. Make them pay the price

You guys realize they'r going to get a slap on the wrist right? IF they come down heavy on the pats, Brady and Brady will retire. lol. I guess that's as good as I can hope for but honestly, I want to smash the Pats next year and put Tom and Bill on notice they're done.

I hope to holy fate that Goodell comes down hard on the Cheatriots. The Astros blueprint would work, but I expect Goodell to enact a soft punishment, like a fine that Kraft can wipe his ass with.

The powerful element in that punishment of the Astros is the year-long suspension. Removing the GM and head coach from the team for a year is exactly what the Patriots need on top of the draft pick punishment.

I think 2 years' first round picks is enough but yeah would like to see more. First two picks in 2020 and 2021 would be much more punishing. That plus a year suspension for Belichick, the GM, and anyone else they can finger who was a part of this thing would be a punishment the Patriots would actually FEEL.

NFL has to do more than the BS it pulled last time. There is history here. If Goodell puts the kid gloves on with this decision it is going to be a big stain on his legacy IMO.

That's not enough.

I still think some cap space needs to be removed (and distributed to the other 31 teams) as well as ineligibility for comp picks for a few years. Frankly, the Pats need to be crippled for years to come. It's not the first time, after all. And the cap space needs to be gradually added back - don't want them to suddenly have a ton of space to sign players.

It should go to their divisional foes IMO.

Well who cares if those two retire other than Patriots fans?

MLB has taken video cheating seriously and made it clear it won't be tolerated. The managers of WS winners the last two years have been fired. GM fired. Top draft picks taken away.

How will the NFL respond to video cheating? NFL is often compared to MLB as America's favorite sport, and in direct competition for air time during Sept and Oct. Will Goodell meet out a similar punishment?

By doing nothing or just giving a slap on the wrist to the Patriots, the NFL will surely get a black eye by the media and fans.

It should go to their divisional foes IMO.

Has any team suffered more than the Rams? Two Super Bowls, after all. Almost all seasons during their run the Pats' divisional foes basically sucked, after all.

Read this on here once before. i looked this up & its not even close to being true. Terrell Buckley was on the roster for the whole season, and even picked off Warner in the 01 regular season game
I'm think it was Holt who said it. Maybe he was thinking of a different player?

It was Bruce Who quoted that @Elmgrovegnome and @Pape that is true. Buckley was with the Pats earlier in the season and was released and added back a few weeks before SB 36.

This Pats Spygate shit involving us is a passion of mine, but the one person I’ve seen post ( unfortunately he doesn’t post much of all about Spygate) is @jrry32. He breaks it all down once or twice I’ve seen him beautifully post before on the subject. Maybe we can glad him on? Lol

a quick look at pfr says otherwise. The whole point is this - make a claim, and if that claim is verifiable, it adds credence to your argument. Make a claim, and if that claim is easily debunked, it hurts your argument.

The AFC Least has been a big part of how they've done this. Same as the NFC Worst helped make the 49ers so good for years.

:palm:

I swear we ever get to a point of ‘ The Purge’ I’m finding where Roger Goodell lives and seeing if he likes being water boarded with goat piss and rattlesnakes bit into his balls.

That fucking idiot.

unbelievable.

they can do whatever the fuck they want without risk of punishment.

where's les baker to tell us how much the nfl has cracked down on the poor cheats?

The Pats have been caught cheating with illegal videotape many times.

Is this a deterrent for them to never do it again?

Or an encouragement to keep on doing it?

Unreal.
