Once again, the Rams used Wednesday's workout as a chance to rest some veteran players.
The Rams (5-7) travel to Washington D.C. to take on the Redskins (3-9) in a noon game Sunday.
Sitting out the workout at Rams Park Wednesday were defensive end Chris Long (ankle), linebacker James Laurinaitis (ankle), center Scott Wells (not injury related), defensive end William Hayes (not injury related) and guard Rodger Saffold, who aggravated a shoulder injury in the third-quarter of Sunday's rout of the visiting Oakland Raiders.
Saffold, who suffered a similar injury earlier this season, said he expects to be ready by Sunday.
Linebacker and special-teamer Will Herring (foot) was limited on Wednesday, with rookie corner Marcus Roberson (ankle) listed as a full practice participant.
The Redskins' injury list on Wednesday included 12 players. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson (shin), defensive lineman Kedric Golston (foot/back), defensive end Jason Hatcher (knee), safety Brandon Merriweather (toe) and cornerback Chase Minnifield (concussion) did not practice, while defensive lineman Chris Baker (chest), cornerback E.J. Biggers (concussion), safety Ryan Clark (stinger) and linebacker Keenan Robinson (knee) were limited.
Linebacker Ryan Kerrigan (wrist) and running back Silas Redd Jr. (rib) were full participants in Wednesday's practice.
PRACTICE-SQUAD MOVES
One day after signing linebacker Marshall McFadden to fill out the 10-player practice squad, the Rams have another opening. They lost defensive back Jemea Thomas Wednesday when he was added to the 53-man roster in Tennessee.
Thomas, a Georgia Tech product, was selected in the sixth round by New England in last May's draft and played in one game with the Rams, the 34-7 loss to the Chiefs in Kansas City.
RAM-BLING
Former Mizzou receiver L'Damian Washington has been signed to the Miami Dolphins practice squad. Meanwhile, running back Chris Ogbonnaya, a seventh-round draft pick by the Rams back in 2009, has signed as a free agent with the New York Giants.
