I'm concerned about the leg injuries Mahomes has had, and as long as Stafford is playing at a high level, I don't know if Mahomes is the best one for this question as of now...but I'd take prime Mahomes over prime Stafford, too.
You put Stafford on KC at the same stage in his career as Mahomes and I see a similar outcome. Stafford never had the coaching or environment that Mahomes had coming out of college. Put Mahomes in Stafford's environment at the same stage in Stafford's career, it is hard to say what he would look like.

No way would I take Mahomes over Stafford in his prime.

Mahomes has it between the ears, the arm, rises up in big moments AND can make plays with his legs.

And at only 30 years old he's now sliding and his peak is over?

Plus Mahomes last MVP award was with Travis Kelce and a receiving core of JuJu Smith Schuster, Marquez Valdez-Scantling, McCole Hardman, Justin Watson, Sky Moore, and Kadarious Toney and a 20th ranked rushing attack that didn't even have a 1,000 yard rusher.

Imagine what he could do with Nacua, Adams, a 7th ranked rushing attack (Backup Corum had only 84 rushing yards lower than the Chiefs top rusher that year) and the confusion caused by the 13 personnel sets.
We have the MVP. He is a Ram. We are Rams fans.......................... and you put up that whiney bitch as your improvement ? Mahomes has gotten the "Brady" treatment' for awhile now. Touch his pinky and get a flag.
Stafford is a much tougher guy and that means something in the NFL.
And no, not for one second do I imagine what Mahomes would do with Puka, Adams and our running game. Why ? We have the MVP and he is ours. Our coach, is a better coach than the Walrus.
Notice the player I picked, Orlando Pace was to help out our MVP. And the other player I threw in was out HOF RT who was only a Ram.
Rams fan after all.

Well Mr. Rams fan you probably want the offseason thread from a couple years back.
BTW, my answer of the Late Kevin Greene would probably be the same for this upcoming season but that wasn't the question.

Re-read the original post and notice the question was about a 2026 impact and how an active player in Fred Warner (even listed his age) was provided as the answer.

There's no doubt in my mind that a 50 year old Orlando Pace and a 71 year old Jackie Slater would get Stafford killed in 2026 and probably would die along the way themselves.

And the so-called whiney bitch has 3 Super Bowl Championships and could possibly have had more if not for OLine injuries. And that means MORE in the NFL as it's the ultimate goal of each organization. Plus, he won his last two Super Bowls without a 1,000 rusher to assist him. And while he had a stud in Travis Kelce he also only had JuJu Smith Schuster OR then rookie Rashee Rice as his main targets.

Sorry, I just can't go with Fred Warner. Not with that 49er smell stinking up the place. Besides, he might not be the same after that injury. I'd go with Jamyr Gibbs. We could use a legit home run hitter at running back.
I think that 49er smell would wash off immediately in game 1 when Kittle tries to run free over the middle (like we've seen over and over again) and his former teammate lays some serious wood on him. I, personally still want to see someone, anyone, make that hit!!

Dad bod Pat also disappears for weeks at a time. And quarters at a time in some games. He’s made some great plays in his career as well, no doubt. But I do not get the glazing for this dude, Kermit, at all.

And the walrus as well. He spent years choking away playoff games like he was ratboy before Kermit came along.

I guess somehow they work well together. Along with the Pfizer spokesman.

But I’ll take Stafford all day long.

But, my guess is that if Mahomes played for the Rams and Stafford played for the Chiefs your opinion would change.

Maybe. I’m sure I’m biased as heck.

I don’t watch a ton of other games other than Rams games. My comments are just based on what I’ve seen over the years from Mahomes.
