I still don't think they should have got rid of Keenum, the dude just fitted their gameplan, and played his heart out. Then again, they thought Cousins was an upgrade, honestly I think it was a sideways move.
I think what Keenum gave Denver is pretty much what Keenum is.
Case is gonna case .. sometimes your gonna get that gritty grab the game by the scriff of the neck play his heart and make some throws case

Last year they were a QB away from getting to the SB. This year they had the QB, but other parts degraded. Maybe they bounce back but in the NFL you never know. They actually had a schedule that was quite a bit easier this year versus last year too so I'm sure they look at this as lost opportunity and are scratching their heads.
Cousins is clearly far superior to Keenum, and had the team stayed on par with last year, especially the defense, they would have been in the playoffs easily and possibly had a bye week.
They have assembled some weapons on O and last year that D was absolutely ferocious. The Rams put up 38 on them this year, just 7 last year. I'm not sure what happened I don't follow that closely but they gave up 341 points this year with a softer schedule versus 252 last year. That's a big point differential.
If they get the D mostly back on track it'll be the Bears and Vikings coming out of the Black & Blue Division for the next few years. IMO the window has closed on the Packers, and the Lions are the Lions.
It's hard to compare the two situations, given that Case had more talent around him in Minnesota in 2017 vs. what he had in Denver in 2018.
Either way, I think he's a lot more mentally tough than Cousins, even if he lacks the same physical abilities.
It’s a QB friendly game. It’s easy to pad stats. The games might play out different. Him and thinPig were in a heated argument on the sidelines during the last game. That says a lot.
I don't know if I agree he had more in Minny than in Denver. I think playing in a dome vs cold weather is a benefit to Case for sure

You know what the deal is, without messing around with numbers. The NFL rarely guarantees any players contract, with the exception of this one. To whom much is given, so is much expected, as they say....

I do understand the allure of Diggs, Thielen and Rudolph, but Keenum was not stuck with a lousy situation, in fact it was pretty darned good.
Are they paying him $84mil?

I'm not a Cousins believer... other than - he'll never get you to (or win) a Super Bowl.
Good stats... but, when the going gets tough, he's not reliable.
Dan Marino had good stats... great stats... HOF. Cousins isn't even half of a Marino.
No way I'd have paid him anywhere near that much...
