not sure why exactly.. but stafford did not do his usual presser after the game.

my guess is he didn't feel like answering questions about next year.

It was a good season, but there were signs along the way that this year's Rams could beat any team, anywhere, but proved that they could blow games as well. While the NFCCG wasn't "blown" in that sense, I was thinking with 1:33 before halftime, we should have run 3 times and punted if necessary. That hurt, then we force a 3 and out to start the second half and the muffed punt was the difference in the game.

I'm not in agreement with changing coaching staff or any wholesale changes, but we need to be a team that can count on special teams to be a strength instead of conceding the 35 yard line with regularity and if the philosophy is a zone, then we need good zone defenders who can help the front 7.

That is all I have to say now. Decent season, but disappointed it ended the way it did.

That fumble rule is garbage. I love how on balls that look close to fumbles, the refs all start blowing their whistles rapidly like it actually means something. It happened once in today's game.

I mean... I'd be shocked if he didn't play next year. Everything he has said up to this indicated he likely will.

The thing that is always lurking however... is that money.....

Yeah I would be really surprised too.

Other thing I’ll say about Stafford—as he gets a lot of criticism for not being mobile—but I thought he was great moving around the pocket all season. Especially tonight. He was moving really well.

And it has become clear we need a pass rushing monster at edge. Unfortunately Young may just have a bum knee and I don't see them extending him since he will already be 28 next year. His fall off was a big part of the defense's issue. Vetse is A better version of Jademaveon Clowney. Can apply pressure, but doesn't close the deal. The secondary just can't hold up without a top level pass rush.
 
An another special teams note….once teams realized we absolutely suck at returning kickoffs, they all just started kicking it to the 3 and making us return it. We started at around the 23, 24 yard line on so many drives. Meanwhile we gotta kick it in the endzone and everyone else is starting out at the 35.

Most of them came in games that were already Blowouts in a 4 game span. other than that Adams has been no where to be found. He had 0 broken Tackles in the Season and his lowest Avg yards after catch! 52.6% catch Rate which is also his worst! Outside of his 4 games he did anything, hes was MIA! Outside of NO,CAR,JAX,TB he has 574 Yards and 5 TD.

Agree 100%, but peaking doesnt mean youre flawless. It means youre playing as good as your team can with what you have. Alot of our losses were to teams that were built to expose our weaknesses.
 
I think the Rams "peaked" too early. After the loss to the whiners, the Rams went on a tear, but they fell off a cliff starting with the loss to the shit hawks. The Rams never fully recovered even though they were better than the panthers and bears. And the shit hawks were too good to gift a TD by muffing a punt in the 2nd half.

Well that sucked, Shula and this defense craped the bed the last part of this season. I hope the hell Shula moves on this off season and the Rams pay more attention to the defensive side of the ball because "defensive wins championships".

They were behind the eight ball when Snead & McVay failed to address the secondary in the offseason. Simple as that. I realize you draft for the future, but in an all in year with a 37 yr old QB, maybe you stick at 26 and draft a CB or take Emanyouri (sp?). He was drafted at 35. I know many of us liked him pre draft.

The defense needs a lot of help. Now thinking a pass rusher & CB in rd one. Take WR a little later or sign a solid vet WR in FA and focus on adding speed to the defense at all 3 levels.

The biggest disappointment is that they couldn't finish off a great season by Stafford. There is no guarantee that a 38 yr old QB will stay healthy for a full season next year. Or for that matter that you don't have one of those years where you get crushed by injuries.

I was proud in how they battled. Not perfect on offense, and when the defense did make a big stop the special teams fumbled a punt. Makes you sick, but still proud of the character they showed. 7 road games in the last 9 weeks and they came within a play or two from winning today.
