Bucs do have a ton of cap space also, one of the few teams that could take this on. Please make this happen!

I honestly don't see how we could take the cap hit in that trade scenario, unless there is something about it I just don't understand.

Not really all that bad. Cooks would cost an additional $5 million if traded, but Gurley would save $4.6 million. With Godwin that makes the cap hit a bit over $1 million, plus the cap hit for the first. Even the Rams can afford that. And it would greatly simplify resigning some of their free agents next season.

Jay glazer was saying yesterday that a huge trade was in the works and then mentioned how not being abke to conduct physicals was making things harder on teams. That made me think the trade involved Gurley.

Regarding his play last year i didnt see him limp once and when you look at some of his runs hes the same guy from 2018 so he either hid the condition extremely well or they dialed him down hoping to preempt a flare up. Arians will get him 25 touches a game and look like a genius
I watched his highlights from 17-18 and he didn't look THAT different in 19. Main difference I noticed was he would run out of bounds instead of trucking through defenders for another yard or two. Im almost certain if he gets more touches we see the old Gurley. It's just hard for someone on the outside looking in to navigate the situation not knowing all the details going on behind closed doors.

I think this is a smoke/fire thing. No way the Bucs are trading Godwin.

Reminds me of a few years ago when the Bradford/Foles trade came out and everyone thought the Rams gave up the 2nd round pick at first - I think this is similar. I can see this trade happening (where we send both to the Bucs) for a 2nd round pick or so, and no Godwin.

For the Bucs, Godwin can play out of the slot and it instantly gives you the best weapons in the NFL for Winston. Gurley and Cooks can also be cut by the time they'd need to extend Godwin. Then they can solidify their OL with their first round pick. Maxing out their effort to make Winston an NFL QB.

Exactly. If people want to see the so called old gurley then give him more touches and an improved offensive line

Remember cooks played with brady so maybe thats part of the attraction for landing brady

I vote fake Gurley/Cooks trade.

Rubin's twitter page says "Buccaneers beat reporter. Writer for the Athletic." but I didn't see a tweet to anything he wrote for the Bucs or the Athletic. Plus there's no tweets about the Bucs or anything during the main part of last season. No blue check, no profile or background picture. I couldn't find anything on Google for this guy regarding the Bucs or the Athletic. Sure there's the Philly guy, but different dude.

Yeah, it might make sense for the Bucs to want to move Godwin in his walk year with the WR market going loco, but other than that makes no sense from Bucs POV.

If we got Godwin and a first rounder for Gurley and Cooks that would be an excellent trade for the Rams.

I can see the Bucs wanting Gurley because they cant run the ball. And Godwin is on the last year of his rookie contract and will require a huge contract in 2021. So Cooks contract is relatively cheap in comparison.

But the Bucs giving up a first rounder? Are the Bucs that stupid? Or maybe they think they are getting the Old Gurley.

Thanks. For some reason, I thought their contracts made them un-movable.

Personally I think the TG is hurt stuff seems more media than real. He sure seemed fine last year. I mean the OL didn't help him or Goff.
And as for the trade rumors with Cooks, he did have, what 3 or 4 straight 1,000 yard seasons until the string broke last year.
I think they both still have a lot left in the tank. Sad part is the team put us in the salary cap issues we have. Paid a little too much for everyone (with the exception of AD).

I'm a huge TG fan and would hate to see him go, personally, but we have to do something to get talent and picks back in return. Guess we shall see how it all plays out.

C’mon people, this guy has an NFL logo as his Twitter profile pic. Scroll down (passed 20 straight tweets about a shoe raffle...) and see his other “breaking news” tweets: The Bears trading for Evan Engram (wrong), and the Pats trading for Sterling Shepard (wrong).

This dude puts “Buccaneers beat reporter” in his profile and all of a sudden people believe this garbage?
