I think this game really comes down to how well we stop the run. They had a lot of success last time running the football, especially on first down. They were constantly in 2nd and medium and 3rd and short. They shrunk the game and minimized the number of possessions we had on offense.

If our offense gets 9 possessions, they are going to score on at least 6 of them. They might have a three and out on one drive, maybe another that stalls out at midfield after some dumb penalties, and maybe a turnover on another. But they will eventually find their groove and score on every other drive. And it’s usually touchdowns.

But when the offense only touches the ball 7 times, the margin for error goes way way down. You can’t afford to go three and out…ever. Every drive has to advance the ball and end in points. The better we are at stopping the run the more opportunities we create for the offense to put points up. It’s gotta be the number one priority defensively today.
And they controlled the ball for 10 minutes more than we did.
That, and the 3 TO's we gave up the last game have gotta change for this game.

This game could easily get lightening delayed...which wouldnt be hortible because thstd give chance for rain to clear out

You know what's funny there's no rain before or after the game, it's going to hit right about gametime. Oh well, young and his itty bitty hands will have problems holding the ball.

Thats a very good question because Forbes was roasted last time and Witherspoon looks cooked to me. I know he was bound to have some rust, but is that all it is?

Durant and Lake need to make a difference in coverage today.
Well...in watching Forbes, he's similar to D Will. He tends to "ball hawk" because he has those long arms. He really needs to keep the receiver in front of him because he's a good tackler. If he does that, he'll be fine. I think he may start being that Spoon may not be completely "back in the saddle" yet.

Having said that, I think the secondary will be a lot more sound with Lake back as well as McCreary, with their veteran leadership. If the pass rush generates good pressure, a couple of picks may be in order.

I don’t think McVay has much of a choice here. Going into philly or Seattle w/o Dotson and Adams? Cant like our chances under those circumstances.

Conversely, after the way the secondary has been playing, especially in the panthers game, I don’t think McVay can afford to keep Lake out.

Talk about hypocritical!! Well you can also GO by what the coaching staff is saying independently, but together.

I think you have it totally FREAKING TWISTED!! Not sayingnI’m always right, but the report of The Rams Carolina on rushing Yards & how they established themselves as an offense tells the story & might be why there a 10 plus point favorite.

The DB’s ?? Last week was important.I’ll give you Q. Lake of playing, but that’s been lined up for weeks.

My question about injuries is Big Rob Havenstien!!! If there was an injury would he be Abe to play right now? I’d say YES !!!. They could CIT all the 1 & doner’s

They need to stop the run while keeping the safeties deep to protect the corners. Need some TFL and put them in 3rd and long. Most importantly, the offense needs to light it up so they can't play their game.

I was hoping this was true, but Bryce Young apparently has 9 3/4" hands, not far behind Stafford's at 10". Hopefully Young holds the football like a big slippery watermelon seed ...
