He doesn't seem to be anything more than average on non passing down. I like the player. But I didn't like the trade up on draft day. And I like it even less now that he cannot stay healthy. Good player. But too much draft capital invested for a part time cog, both in terms of availability, and the types of situations he excels in when healthy. It's all water under the bridge now. The picks are spent. So might as well be happy with the player. But not the best asset management on this pick IMO. 39th overall... that's almost a 1st rounder... Cooper DeJean went the next next pick to the Eagles, we could sure use the help in the secondary right now.
Not an awful addition, but DeJean would have been the better pick, and it's who I thought they moved up for at the time.

What does this mean? Are you projecting an average starter, below average starter, or above average starter?

For those who say he's been injured all year, how do we know this? I hadn't heard about that.
Above average started is probably the cap. The type of player that rides out their rookie contract and is replaced through the draft.

It's far too early to praise or criticize Fiske. Linemen - hell, players as a whole, to be honest - tend to take a while to grow; not everyone can be Aaron Donald right off the bat. Did anyone see Byron Young being the lynchpin to our defense this year? Didn't we all dislike how Warren McClendon played before this year?

Fiske still has a while to go, but I think he has the potential to get there.

Fiske is a serious, athletic, and hard working DL who is going to bring it for us for years. None of these guys are going to win every snap, especially when doubled which Fiske gets his share of.

We've already seen improvement by him vs those doubles too. We just need to keep loading draft talent into this defensive unit. Let's get them a good corner in the 2026 draft, maybe a backup NT, perhaps even another edge for the rotation and keep that heat applied.
