Here is a list of the Rams 2026 coaching staff. There are 25(!!!) coaches. 25. Or almost a 1:2 ratio coach/player on the 53 man roster. Is this normal across the league? I'm old enough to remember George Allen had 6 assistants, and one was Vermeil as the first ST coach in the league. (There were also 17 draft choices back then too. 17.)
  • Sean McVay — Head Coach
  • Kliff Kingsbury — Assistant Head Coach
  • Nate Scheelhaase — Offensive Coordinator
  • Dave Ragone — Associate Coordinator / Quarterbacks
  • Rob Calabrese — Wide Receivers
  • Ryan Wendell — Offensive Line
  • Scott Huff — Tight Ends
  • Ron Gould — Running Backs
  • Zak Kromer — Assistant Offensive Line
  • Brian Allen — Assistant Offensive Line
  • Robert Woods — Assistant Wide Receivers
  • Eric Yarber — Senior Offensive Assistant / Wide Receivers
  • Brian Johnson — Senior Offensive Assistant
  • Robert Wright — Senior Defensive Assistant
  • Chris Shula — Defensive Coordinator
  • Giff Smith — Run Game Coordinator / Defensive Line
  • Greg Williams — Inside Linebackers
  • Jimmy Lake — Pass Game Coordinator / Defensive Backs
  • Chris Beake — Safeties
  • Joe Coniglio — Outside Linebackers
  • Drew Wilkins — Pass Rush Coordinator
  • Mike Hunter — Assistant Defensive Backs
  • Bubba Ventrone — Special Teams Coordinator
  • Kyle Hoke — Assistant Special Teams
  • Dan Shamash — Game Management Coordinator / Assistant Tight Ends

I think the Rams will lose both OC and DC next year to HC jobs. I’m thinking McVay will just slide Kliff over to OC next.

I think Kingsbury could get a gig next year too. One job that I will predict will be open is Tampa and either Scheelhaase or Kingsbury will be on their short list.

This offensive coaching staff is stacked
If the Rams did draft a QB, they'd be walking in to an unbelievable situation
Conversely, if they dont draft a QB, no stone would be left unturned in giving Stetson every opportunity to succeed

Reminds me a little of how the Eagles had a loaded staff for Carson Wentz's rookie season ...
Doug Pederson (HC), Frank Reich (OC) and John DeFilippo (QB-coach) ... all former-QBs ... all experienced coaches ... all experienced offensive coordinators.

Jeff Fisher gave his rookie-QB ... former TE-coach Rob Boras as his Offensive Coordinator ... his first NFL season as an OC ... Chris Weinke was the QB-coach ... his second season, at any level, as a coach, and
Mike Groh as the pass-game-coordinator (first-time in that role) / WR-coach.

Noticeably absent is Aubrey Pleasant.

A bit shocking IMO.

For one thing, he was the assistant head coach, everyone loved him and McVay spoke so glowingly of him.

For another....at times our coverage was really good....WELL above what the talent could have achieved. I'd have thought he would get some credit for that....that game against the Bears, for example - we didn't touch Caleb all game, but picked him off three times and covered pretty well throughout. Of course that lack of talent would also have let down games....lets be real. He had almost nothing to work with

To save you guys the long read, bottom line:

Since Brian Johnson used to call plays for Philly and worked with Kingsbury in Wash, his analytical eye is valued:

"McVay has long believed that self-scouting must come from outside voices — especially ones recently tasked with beating your system."
Oldschool always brings articles from x.Not a fan & won’t travel far on it.SO not sure how Sean Desai & the connection actually?

Kingsbury though made SO much since & like when Mcvay signed Raheem Morris the first thought was a Ram plus DRAFT PICKS.Not a Fan he is a 9er,see the connection.

The Brian Johnson signing is a pretty cool signing, because there are his Redskin Roots.I know they’ve had a full make over & change of names since Mcvay has been a Ram,but I could ADD The Cards & say total Old NFC WEST.
If you want to get into my HEAD I’d tell you why with Johnson.Minus The NY Giants, unless your talking Manning award as well.
