Simpson did look pretty good today. Nice, crisp passes. Good decision making. But I know it’s preseason. He's playing with backups against backups. It’s hard to know how much stock to put in this performance. Still, I kinda think I'd rather him as QB2. I'm just not sold on Bennett. And Simpson is our future. After taking a year off I question Bennett's love of the game.
Bennett had some mental issues to deal with and he came back a much better player. Dealing with a mental health issue doesn’t diminish his love for the game it actually helped him get his life under control to be able to focus on the game. That’s something he should receive high praise for.

Quick observations

  • Ty is better than Bennett
  • #11 looks good. Might give Johnson a run for his money
  • Connors looks like a great #3 option.
  • Anderson on defense always around the ball.
  • Obviously this is preseason but I like some of the depth
Anderson did look good, but got lucky on the drop pass by the Chief wideout otherwise it’s a 94 yard TD pass.

#11 - Thomas - is an Enigma. He always balls out in the preseason, and we keep him around, and he gets very little time in the regular season.

Anderson has something special about him. I want to see more, but it will be tough to crack our safety room. We could have the best collection of safeties in the league.

He always gets hurt

He (#11) was injured all last year if im not mistaken

And Jordan Waters - oh man. I think he should just go ahead and pack Hunter's bags for him.

KW/Corum/Connors/Waters - I like this.
When Hunter was running, the oline was working against 1st and 2nd string and the line was not that good, but yes the other runners did look better against bottom of the roster guys, Simpson also. Hunter made a couple of decent runs.

Yeah he was 28/40 325 3 TDs vs the Chargers. Thats why I was so confused with how they used him today. They treated him like it was his first preseason game. I’d have rather Simpson got the start if they weren’t going to let Bennett show what he could do.

Low risk game reps. That’s all that was.

Yep, looks like we finally have a legit young QB prospect waiting in the wings. The kid looked good, even if it was a limited attack. He looked composed. He was accurate. His wheels will be a factor when he gets his opportunity, and it will be fun to watch McVay utilize that skillset.

I remember that game like it was yesterday. We were at my grandparents house I was 5 and Miami won I flipped an ashtray off the coffee and it cascaded to the floor.

My father said to relax & my grandfather told me I needed to learn how to control that temper. I miss them both dearly, but.those pieces of advice fell on deaf ears.
I was 11. My grandparents were gone but there were four sets of aunts and uncles, with nine cousins.

Typical Italian Holiday Dinner ... start-off with a huge Antipasto, followed by a full Italian meal featurning lasagna, ravioli or macaroni (not called pasta back then ... at least not in my family), meatballs, sausage and braciola (can't easily find a good braciola these days).

Then came the Main Course ... varied ... could be Roast Beef, Ham, Roast Pork or even another Turkey ... but it didn't matter ... everyone was so full from what came before, we just looked at the Main Couse ... with trimmings of course ... admired it, complimented it ... and, commented how good it would be as left-overs.

That Game was so entertaining. Everyone was going crazy. I was the youngest in the room; and was enjoying my father, uncles and cousins as much as that great game. Future Hall of Famer, Jan Stenerud missing multiple field goals was brutal. Great Memory. Miss those people ... few are still around.

Also miss the braciola ...

One thing about Ty - I know some we concerned he was too small. It didn't look that way today. Height wise, looks like an average NFL QB. But what I noticed was, he has some guns, and he's thick as hell in the lower body.

I'm more excited about this pick than ever. That TD pass to Connors was a thing of beauty - the old RB post that Gurley used to run so effectively.

THAT, was his most pro-looking play.
