The tape does not look overly impressive.

Gets pushed back a lot of plays. Doesn't look particularly quick.

He has shorter arms. He will have to play guard.

I'm not sure what tape you're looking at. The SEC had many outstanding pass-rushers. Trost handled all of them in the passing game (I blame the left side of Mizzou's O-line pretty much cratering once Green went down). He buried people in the running game. I don't know where you're saying he was "pushed back" because he very clearly wasn't.

And even if he's strictly a guard or a center and a good one like I think he could be, that's still a win. We're likely going to lose one or both of Avila and/or Dotson, and possibly Shelton as well because we must sign McClendon, Nacua (likely), Turner (also likely), and many other players. We need guys who can play on the interior. If Trost is that guy, then it's a win.

Maybe we see different things. When he gets beat in pass pro, he pushes the rusher further into the backfield. It’s good technique to counter a speed rush.

I remember message boards falling in love with Jamon Brown who repeatedly tripped over himself to create pancake blocks. That was not good football.

Seems to have a good base.

Seems like this draft was not about picking guys who can make them better for the Superbowl run. It's about the future.

They picked a guy they hope will be their franchise quarterback in the post Stafford era.

The 13 personnel was very effective. Parkinson will be a free agent next off-season. Hig bee
might retire. They will need another athletic tight end.

And the lineman they will probably be a starter at some point. But not this year.

All 3 have an eye on the future. It's good they're not sacrificing that future. I expect our team to be a perennial contender for years to come.

After watching the new presser, it seems like it’s about having the depth to do what they want.

Last years draft was for the future as well. The future is now. Fergy will step up and maybe Hunter becomes what we hoped. Also the UDFA LB that got hurt will give Spieghts a run for the position.

You got a problem with this pick?
You got a problem wit yo self, foo

For real though, I definitely like this pick. Build up the front., OL depth now, future starter potential at G or RT. Checks a whole lot of boxes.

MVP QB play and league best WR duo production are hard standards to maintain but are both a whole hell of a lot easier when you win at the line of scrimmage
