Secondary is completed to me if/when we add Tyrann because of his flexibility he makes the secondary basically nuts for the other team. Just would add so much confusion and moving parts would be great.

March 18, 2021: Free agent cornerback Troy Hill is heading to Cleveland.

Hill is signing a four-year, $24 million contract with the Browns, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

With the Rams last year, Hill led the NFL in interception return yards and had two pick-sixes. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown. He started all 16 games for the Rams and played 95 percent of their defensive snaps.

In 2022, Hill will earn a base salary of $1,500,000, while carrying a cap hit of $1,500,000.

Wut, you’re not a Quacker Backer?
Basically, the place (Oregon/Portland area) is flooded with duck crap - by fair-weather fans, for the University of Northern California (AKA, UO). Many of my friends/acquaintances went to Oregon State... it is just a running jab we take at the duck folks...

Hang on - let me ask Steven Jackson or Johnny Hekker who I should follow??!!??! :zany1:

Meh…I won’t hold that questionable PAC 12 connection against them! Eugene > Corvallis

They overpaid. The league shouldn't even give him draft picks because he just gives them away to other teams.

Love that we got a comp pick we'll use today for losing him in free agency then got him back.

Another great move by Les. To me the biggest hole on the team was at CB and we needed stability at CB especially against TB who has 3 amazing wrs. If we add Mathieu's next week our secondary will be very stout. Combined with an high octane offense we will be hard to beat. Plus Les will pick up some other OLB down the line like he did with Von and others.

Great smart inexpensive pickup who knows the system cold no learning curve.

Hill’s good…as depth. I’d still rather see Rochell and Durant win the jobs. At least it’s a one year deal on a pittance?
Yeah I think the value with him is his versatility. He's not great at anything and does dumb shit but he also makes plays in different roles. I'm pretty happy seeing him back after seeing these other depth options.

Loser in all this is Long. Heat is on and tbh that's good for him. Maybe he'll still emerge but either way we look solid back there and maybe we get Mathieu too, fingers crossed there.

Hill will play the most defensive snaps. Rochell will take Darius Williams spot. Just like in 2020 with Staley. Hill will move around to allow Ramsey to move around.

Durant will vie for snaps with Long. He will be a depth piece. He’s a late round pick.

One thing I love about having Hill is that this gives them a much better "star" option when Ramsey is outside. Hill excelled in the roll in 20.
Great acquisition for many reasons, imo. Very happy to see this.

My ideal scenario is Kendricks locking up the slot. That allows Ramsey to stay outside the hashes. Rochell takes the opposite hash. Then you have Hill on certain sub looks depending on opponent, as well as great depth to replace any spot.

I wouldn't want Kendricks outside the hash with his lack of long speed. Rochell is a long gazelle type athlete so they gotta get him ready for that perimeter, I think him being out there is our best case scenario as we'd have two big perimeter corners who are sized for the larger wideouts teams are getting every year. And Kendricks gives you the dangerous cover guy in the slot with those ball skills meaning when QBs throw up ducks at their slot receiver there's gonna be some fear.
