Morris' D is giving opposing teams a ten minute advatage in TOP. Thats just not gonna work for a 17 game season.
For the record it's Rams 28:24 opponents 31:35 so just over three minutes difference. And in three weeks opponents have run only 20 plays more than us. There's a lot of misconceptions going around about us and the defense.

Add to that McVay's offense is absolutely contributing to this it's not all on Morris. Also do you think Morris is calling a defense that McVay doesn't like or doesn't want called?

There are other ways to protect the young DBs. It is okay to mix it in as a chsnge up. Dont show it, play up then back out. Its like a pitcher coming up to bat no oits and a runner at 1st
He rounds to bunt before the pitcher even comes out of his stretch. Come on man at least try to confuse the qb.

He's coaching very short handed tonight. I am curious to see how he does but not sure I can judge him too harshly regardless given the personnel constraints.

The jury is still out on Morris, IMO. I really don't know what to think of him yet even after 1.25 seasons. Perhaps that tells you all one needs to know...

He did lock it down last year when it mattered, after some really iffy patches, but was he just the benefactor of an absolutely star-studded defence? Did McVay or someone else have to step in and make him re-adjust his approach? Surely most DCs would have been able to put in very impressive outings with that roster? Many would have choked as well though, to be fair. Full marks for getting the job done and winning it all. You can never take that away from him or discount that.

As of now, I'd definitely favour a comp pick over retaining him next season.

Haha, the wrs aren't even coming back to the ball and the dbs are still a couple of yards off them beyond the 1st down marker.

.

The 6th round rookie and practice squad guy?

Yeah…

It must be pretty deflating for the front 7 when they know no matter what they do on 3rd down, whatever the distance, there's an easy completion for the offense to a wr who catches the ball beyond the 1st down marker and there's not a db in sight to challenge it.

Well... it is pretty dam deflating watching it...

Well there you go, the practice squad guy was there to challenge the catch on 3rd down and forces an incompletion. It's not rocket science.

I would genuinely love to get rid of him after this season. It’s beyond frustrating watching the soft coverage nonsense we do that I don’t really see any other team do. Specifically, on the third and short plays.

lol.. he was off the line and kept it in front. Same thing they’ve been doing.

defense was good enough to win - the problem is we have zero weapons on offense besides one guy and a depleted o-line
