Putting Jared Goff's College Career in the Rear-View Mirror

With the Rams officially starting their 2016 training camp next week, rookie quarterback Jared Thomas Goff and his college career at the University of California Berkely will quickly become a fading memory.

The closer the NFL preseason gets, the more our focus of the rookie and his Rams professional football career will take center stage. Jared Goff's college career will quietly become a distant memory with all eyes watching every throw and mistake he makes as the future QB of the Rams.

Below is a list of Goff's 2015 college season game links (offensive snaps only) in chronological order, along with his best interviews and press conferences before and after he was selected #1 overall by the Rams in the 2016 NFL Draft.

I'm sure most of you have already seen many of these but I decided to consolidate the links for history, reference and archive entertainment as we turn the page to Goff's NFL career with the Rams.

For many of us Rams fans, Goff's college and NFL draft memories will become less significant with each snap he takes as the new Los Angeles Rams Franchise quarterback.

Did you see him run the table on his dad?. The "pool shark" is pretty good. That tells me something. He has a great knack for angles, and timing and how to put the right energy into his passes, and how to put "English" on the ball.

-- Jared Goff was seasoning himself for the NFL. His college career was just that.
It was a good career,but it is his potential that got him drafted #1 overall.

Some things:
a) There are some throws that Goff makes that very few NFLers can make (with timing/anticipation and location) under duress. There were 3 perfect (!) throws in the endzone (one 2 pointer) against WSU that would be a season of perfect throws for most NFL QBs. IF he does that 1-3 times a game, that alone could determine the outcome of a few games for the Rams!
b) he seems decisive and confident...he never is throwing it up there and seeing what happens
c) he also seems to be very avg in 'arm talent' when the ball has to carry 25-35 yards 'on a line' down the field--when his feet aren't set perfectly. But, I think his arm will get stronger.
d) he knows where the screen and flair patterns are going to be...many NFL QBs can't anticipate those throws like Goff does.

Thanks R.Snow and all of you others that enjoyed the consolidated final college presentation of our new franchise QB. I figured some of us would like to take a final peek at Goff's 2015 college season and some misc clips now that we're down to the last days until he learns how to be a professional.

I've watched them all in order again over the weekend and I notice his obvious strengths as weaknesses. I do believe his ceiling is much higher than some of the NFL draft pundits were saying when they were speaking about how Wentz had the so called higher ceiling etc.

Either way, if I'm Snead I make that trade again 6 days a week and twice on Sunday. I know when Goff eventually takes over as the starting QB, the 21 year old will have his problems and ugly mistakes, but when the speed of the pro game slows down for him and his confidence in learning NFL defenses starts to click, he's going to put on a show for all of us QB starved Rams fans opcorn:
