With all of the talk about crappy officiating, I’m suddenly remembering a call that affected the outcome of a playoff game in New Orleans in ‘19.
Remember the non PI call on Nickell Robey Coleman.
Definitely one of the most blatant missed calls of the century.
“Choppa Style” !!!!
So, there’s that.

As bad (but didn’t keep the Rams from winning) non-call was the blatant facemask by Tee Higgins on Ramsey in the 2022 Super Bowl. The issue is the NFL needs to be more consistent on what is/isnt being called. It’s becoming the storyline in too many games.

Imagine if they get replaced by AI who has the ability to watch every player on every play?

With the quantity and quality of cameras used today on every play in every game, it's ludicrous to have millions of people see a play in HD from four angles and be told because an older human trying to see everything while possibly running to the play didn't quite see the play correctly, that his word shall rule. I don't like the proliferation of betting on games, but the fact it's apparently here to stay is a factor as well. A well-timed non-call or egregious bad call can make a ref a lot of money. Not saying it's happened, but too many people nowadays will assume it has, which is almost as bad. Let obvious calls be immediately overturned by NY and move on.

Agree with your statement, and it works great in theory, but that is the “system” currently in place, no? How well did that work out on the ineligible player downfield on us against Seattle?

After that game, I went to cheer the team back at the Thousand Oaks facility at 1:30 AM with a crowd of die hards when they arrived from LAX on the team buses. Nickell Robey Coleman, as he was driving out of the facility, rolled down his window and we grabbed each others hand and I was freaking out! What a moment!

Not his fault he said the refs sucked when hey do. If they want to not listen to criticism, then they should do a fucking better job.

I've literally flamed tween fanfiction writers that that aren't as soft, coddled, whiny babies than these supposed grown men who are so fucking soft that their employer (the NFL) can't possibly any criticism that might damage their feelings. And y'all know how I lean when it comes to mental health, emotional health, and stuff like that, but not allowing any sort of criticism, even when it's accurate, does not help anyone.

Censoring accurate criticism won't make your reffing crews less of a joke, NFL, especially when you've already laid in bed with gambling (which I have massive problems with in its entirety, but I won't get further into it. If you want me to explain my feelings, PM me, but I'm not going to break site rules by saying my feelings out loud.).
It might not be his fault the refs suck, but it is his fault if he calls them out. If he needs to say stuff like that and I am sure he needed to vent like the rest of us, he should say it to his friends not to any media.

Yes there were many bad or missed calls that affected the game that day. Only one gets mentioned though.

It gives me no shortage of pleasure and happiness to know that one of the greatest coaches of all time shares the same philosophy as I do about refs. Fuck the crybabies, play better and don’t let the refs incompetence have a chance to change the course of the game. “Leave no doubt!”
Like that coach, Rich and most of us around here have said the Rams didn't do enough to win that game. Not sure why that's in question. But refs continually affecting games like they do is unacceptable. And the line that some are using that it's all Puka's fault for speaking up is 1000% worse, those people are straight up saying the refs deliberately cheated us because of his comments. That's line of thinking and excusing the refs for that behavior is unacceptable.

When the refs don’t call illegal use of hands for Puna Ford’s helmet getting ripped off, or pass interference on the deep throw to TuTu, or holding at any point during the game… is Puka happy about that ? After all, his point was that the refs call flags to get on tv. So when they’re not calling flags against our opponent, that must be what Puka wanted right? To not have refs trying to get on tv?

Still can’t understand what was going through Puka’s head when he went on that shithead’s podcast for dumbasses.

The only reason I haven’t soured on him completely is because he’s been one of the few consistently great players on the field.

I have a better question. Have the refs missing and making bad calls started since he went and said what he did? I think the answer is pretty obviously no. If that's true then how are the last two weeks Pukas fault? I think the answer to that is also pretty obvious.
