Bruce is going up against Champ Bailey, Ed Reed and Tony Gonzalez, among others.

Those three are virtual locks which only leaves two openings for everyone else.

Bruce should have been an obvious 1st Ballot choice.
His career may not have given him the numbers of target demanding diva WRs like Moss and T.O., but his stats are still great.
Owens and Moss had undeniable talent and the big numbers but were they really WINNERS? (Does going to the Pats count?) Were they always good, consistently, or just on the good teams?

Bruce has the career numbers. He gave his team a HUUUUGE play to WIN a Superbowl, so he not only has the hardware but the Championship HERO play. His sophomore year is one of the greatest WR seasons ever, compared to anyone.
He was the perfect prototype WR that was instrumental in making the GSOT offense what it was: the best offense of all time. (Until McVays 2019 Rams? ;) )

Bruces absence shows that the HOF is going the way of the pro bowl. Big names, big markets and rewarding publicity whores for their tabloid behavior. I don't question Moss' freakish natural talent or TOs physical abilities. 1 way or another, both managed to have success enough to pile up stats for the record books.
Both belong in the HOF, based on those things. They had major holes in their game in other ways though, ways that often hurt their teams.
Bruce had no such holes in his games.
His numbers however do take a hit, because he shared his targets with 2 other HOF caliber recievers in Faulk and Holt and made something greater than a career...

I know I am ranting... but...
... I am just preaching to the choir about the good Reverend Ike!!!

Ha ha ha 5 points if you can tell me who that is and 5 bonus points if you can tell what he's advertising?

Not a clue, but he looks like a young Antonio Gates to me??? I was just pounding the table for Bruce.

I think Hutch should go in LOOONG before Shaun does. He made Shaun (along with Walter). Then turned around with the Viqueens and helped make AP. I remember thinking that, as soon as he left, Shaun would dwindle, while whoever he blocked for in Minny would shoot off.
He & the other guys on that short list - Champ Bailey, Ed Reed and Tony Gonzalez, plus Bruuuuuce & Holt - should be locks, with Vermeil & maybe "Air" McNair.
