Anyone think the Bengals might trade up with us to grab Jones? I'd see us getting their 2nd, their 4th and maybe their comp sixth if we're lucky. More likely a 7th, but knowing Les, nothing less than a 6th will work.

Assuming no trades because I am not Nostradamus.

(1) # 31 Jaylon Ferguson, DE/Edge, Louisiana Tech
(3) #94 Justin Layne, CB, Michigan State
(3) #99 Elgton Jenkins, G/C, Mississippi State

All three have visited with the Rams, Ferguson and Jenkins are seniors.

After failing in their attempt to dominate the 6th round last year, the Rams will give it another go, and manage to get 39 of the 41 picks - only SF will hold out, those fuckers.

Going bold.

1: We trade up in the 1st round to take Devin Bush, keeping the family bloodline in the Rams
2: TE Noah Fant, because someone reveals some texts he sent when he was 6 years old calling someone a homophobic slur, and teams scramble away from him.
3: We don't have a 3, cause we traded up in the 1st.

I could see that. The staff connection does matter in this type of stuff and might help open up that possibility. But with QBs who knows man, I mean rumors that four might go off the board by the 20s is insane to me. That said, I pray it happens and pushes another good prospect down to us muhahaha.

Noah Fant is still on the board in the mid 20's, Rams trade pick 99 with pick 31 to move up to select him. GIves the O another playmaker, something the Rams did not add last year.
If the happens, Rams should trade down to accumulate more picks, similar to last year.

Fant in this offense would be insane. Hard to imagine that happening but goddamn I would be stoked.

I actually like Hockenberry better. I know his name isn't Hockenberry, but I just can't remember his actual name.

Funny, I can still remember Hobgood-Chittick, (maybe because of DeMarco Farr), but can't get my brain off of the Hockenberry rails...

Still, he's to my eye just as good a receiver and a MUCH better blocker.

EDIT: Just looked it up...it's Hocken...son. HOCKENSON!!! and I can't put that into my brain. /smh I trust my brain less and less each day...

So do I. Hockenson is the better TE because he can win for you on run downs or kill teams a number of ways in the passing game. And that's why he'll go top 10 IMO, certainly top 15.

But Fant is a crazy good fit for McVay's offense. Unfortunately he's a good fit for a lot of other teams that are going to covet him like Green Bay and New Orleans. He will require a bit more time than TJ will to settle in but when he does he's going to eat teams alive if he ends up in the right offense.

Stop it, none of these are going to be right picking where the Rams are. Just something to talk about. Lets wait and see.
