Wouldn't surprise me. Would be a farce - how many points has their defense conceded? (I concede their opponents so far better than ours)

I have seen a couple that have the Rams on top...They were #2 last week on Harrison's NFLN's Powers ranking last week, we have to be #1 there...

I'm not sure I would put us #1 de facto. I dont think the Cardinals will get more than 2-3 wins this year, we might have beaten the worst team in football

But we did what a dominant team would do in such a situation. Scored more than 30 points and shut out the opponent. That's hard to do, even against bad teams.

The Vikes???

They have them squeaking by the so-so Niners and tying the Pack as leap-frogging the Rams to #1?
Yeah...I was checking the early rankings some post Sunday evening, and one had the Vikes.

.

The Vikings should have lost that game. Cousins threw an interception to end the game but the stupid ref called roughing the passer. All Matthews did was tackle him to the ground as he passed the ball, didn't put his body weight on top of him. Crazy.

And the packers need even newer dbs. How that last td pass to theilen wasn't an interception is a damning reflection of their dbs.

Well, they did just sign Dan Baily, so the theoretically should be minus 1. Which make them even better than 1

49ers probably should have lost as well, Jimmy G almost threw a pick 6 but the Lions defender was tackled at like the 10 or something. Except no, they called a holding in the Lions secondary on a ticky tack play that happened on the opposite side of the field when Jimmy G never once took his eyes of the receiver he threw to (resulting in the pick).

Such a bullshit flag to throw in a situation like that. As far as I'm considered, if the QB never even once looks over to that side of the field, then you pick the flag back up.

True, but being ranked second is still very honorable. My point is just that you are not automatically anointed top dog for walking over a bad team.
But the top 5 spots are kind of interchangeable at the moment I'd say

USA Today:

Jags #1
Rams #2

Can you believe that? Rams beat those Jags head to head last year too, right?

Rams should be #1, but I get the Jags because of SoS.

All that matters is the Lombardi.

Weekly rankings have never mattered much. Hopefully teams will still underestimate us as being “good, not great”

ESPN has Rams at #1 Jags at #2

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24715438/nfl-power-rankings-rams-new-no-1-chaos-2018-week-3

We're on to Week 3, and a new team reigns supreme in ESPN's NFL Power Rankings: After blasting the Cardinals 34-0, the Rams take the top spot. But don't fret, 0-2 teams, everyone still has a reason to be optimistic this early in the season. So where do the other teams fall in behind the Rams? And what is the ray of hope for your team?

The ESPN power panel -- a group of more than 80 writers, editors and TV personalities -- evaluated how all 32 teams stack up. Enjoy.

Week 2 ranking: 4

The Rams are 2-0 for the first time since 2001, when they played in the Super Bowl. Los Angeles is now the favorite to win it all, by most measures. The Rams have the best odds to win the Super Bowl (5-1), according to the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook, and also are 30 percent FPI favorites to win it all (best in league). -- Doug Clawson

2. Jacksonville Jaguars
2018 record: 2-0
Week 2 ranking: 5

The Jaguars knocked off the defending AFC champion Patriots at home, and they now have won six straight games in Jacksonville by an average of 15.7 points per game. That is their longest home win streak since winning six straight in 2005-06, and they get to host the Titans in Week 3. -- Joey Koontz

3. Kansas City Chiefs
2018 record: 2-0
Week 2 ranking: 6

Patrick Mahomes became the youngest quarterback in NFL history to throw six touchdown passes in a game (he turned 23 on Monday), and his 10 touchdowns this season are the most through a team's first two games of a season in league history. Up next are the 49ers, who have yet to pick off a pass this season and just allowed Matthew Stafford to throw three touchdowns. -- Koontz

The Patriots are 1-1 for the third time in the past five seasons. Each of the previous two times they started 1-1 (2014 and 2017), they reached the Super Bowl. And while the Patriots are thin at wide receiver, Tom Brady is 12-for-14 while targeting Phillip Dorsett this season, more completions than Brady had to Dorsett all of last year (11-for-16 in 2017) -- Joey Koontz

5. Philadelphia Eagles
2018 record: 1-1
Week 2 ranking: 1
rd-arrow.png

The Eagles are allowing a league-best 2.85 yards per rush and 58.5 yards per game. They also are posting a league-best 1.34 yards allowed before first contact per rush. -- Vince Masi

6. Minnesota Vikings
2018 record: 1-0-1
Week 2 ranking: 3
rd-arrow.png

Kirk Cousins became the first Vikings quarterback with 400 passing yards and four touchdowns in a game since Daunte Culpepper in 2004. He was 14-for-20 with 219 yards and 3 TDs in the fourth quarter and overtime after going 0-7 in the fourth quarter in Week 1. This was the first time since at least 2001 that the Vikings didn't lose when trailing by 8 or more points in the final 2 minutes of the fourth quarter. (They entered the game 0-76 in such situations since 2001.) -- Clawson

i

7. Green Bay Packers
2018 record: 1-0-1
Week 2 ranking: 7
sw_ye_40.png

Aaron Rodgers handled pressure well despite being hobbled with a knee injury. He was 6-for-9 passing with 94 yards under duress and 9-for-9 passing with 87 yards against the blitz. And he showed mobility when he needed it, attempting 4 of his 6 passes outside the pocket in the fourth quarter and overtime. -- Clawson

i

8. Atlanta Falcons
2018 record: 1-1
Week 2 ranking: 10
gn-arrow.png

The Falcons made a big improvement in the red zone from Week 1 to Week 2. They were 4-for-4 scoring touchdowns inside the 20-yard line against the Panthers on Sunday, after they were 1-for-5 in Week 1 against the Eagles. -- Masi

i

9. New Orleans Saints

i

10. Pittsburgh Steelers
2018 record: 0-1-1

That’s just it. They managed to come back and tie the immortal Aaron Rodgers. Didn’t you know that he is otherwise undefeated for his entire career? And so what if their kicker blew the chance at a win. That only matters when it’s the Rams.

Until this team defeats a worthy opponent or two, they should not be number 1.

You could take any top ten team and make them play Arizona and Oakland and they’d likely win both games. It’s not a good indicator.
