It would be a very big insurance policy move directed @ protection of our MVP #9.

Here's what I see on this subject:

OT starters
LT AJ's "lurking" on again off again serious health issues.
RT Warren McClendon Soon upcoming UFA status in 10 months.

OT Reserves
"VACANT" back up reserve LT on the current LA roster.
RT 36 yr old Quessenberry has only 1 yr as a starter (2021)
RT 29 yr old Practice Squad rider AJ Arcuri has started only 1 gm {2022}.
Hey man! What up? Good to see you.

I’ll say it for the umpteenth time:
The Rams are a legit SB contender. It is absolutely ridiculous to assume or plan on two starting Tackles to play every down for 18-21 games.

Drafting a Tackle in the 1rst round would not surprise or disappoint me.
If I can recall it right, LT Jackson sustained a knee injury early in that 2nd Seahawk game which the Rams lost. Jackson did not play the following week & that LT position was a open runway lane to crash #9, which the Rams lost that 2nd critical gm against the Falcons.

My thoughts here is that injury @ LT post had an high impact on that Rams late season outcome from Divisional Champ to the a wildcard.

The OL after this season is a serious problem here...Rams have 4 ( FOUR) of their 5 starting OL'ers are UFA's at the end of this 2026 season, add in Snead's top 2 of the OL reserves.

Snead can not afford to resign more than 2 of those 4 starters at best. Using a first rd selection for a highly talented OT for the next 5 yrs "on the cheap!" will help dramatically.

You will never entice QB Stafford to return after this season or acquire in trade a excellent veteran QB with an inexperienced weak 2027 OL.
